  • Publication number: 20080239255
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and to a method for optically detecting and receiving, in particular for digitising, interconnected sheets (10) along a margin (6), in particular a book (7), comprising a bearing and/or securing device (8) for the sheets (10) and a receiving device (1) which comprises two angular imaging surfaces (2) which have a common vertex edge (3) and which are arranged in relation to each other, in addition to at least one receiving unit (19). The bearing and/or securing device (8) and the receiving device (1) are arranged in a displaceable manner in relation to each other, such that the vertex edge (3) of receiving device (1) and the margin (6) of the sheets (10) can be joined together. The receiving device (1) comprises traction means (15, 16) which are used to catch at least one sheet (10?) when removing the vertex edge (3) of the receiving device (1) from the margin (6) of the sheets (10).

  • Patent number: 5436847
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining a periodic pattern in an amplitude spectrum, for example, in a Doppler spectrum of a radar echo. A residual spectrum is formed using Fuzzy Set Theory, and the periodic pattern is determined for each residual spectrum by histogramming the original spectrum. The method can be used for identifying aircraft, for example helicopters, that have periodically-moving components, e.g., rotors, that generate a periodic pattern in a Doppler spectrum.

  • Patent number: 5311643
Abstract: A hinge for a foldable rail section for mounting a container of an oxygen supply unit in an aircraft, with a first hinge part on the rail section and a second hinge part on the edge of the container, and with a container door, which extends in parallel to the longitudinal side of the rail section and is pivotable around a joint on the rear edge of the container. The connection of the hinge to the container is simplified, and a stop is provided for the container door.

  • Patent number: 5251837
Abstract: A device for winding webs of material onto winding shafts comprises a movable bearing supporting a winding shaft during winding, through which the supply roll being formed can be moved towards a contact roller and which can be moved in a position away therefrom for the removal of the completely wound supply roll. A new winding shaft accelerated approximately up to the speed of the web and onto which the cut leading end of the web can be wound, is inserted in the movable bearings. To prevent damage to the web, the weight of the supply roll is supported on the contact roller. The movable bearing is formed by two pairs of holding means, each pair of which can be moved synchronously with the other pair but also independently thereof. The pairs are adapted to hold a supply roll jointly as well as individually to hold a completely wound supply roll or a winding shaft with the leading end of the web wound thereon.

  • Patent number: 5213380
Abstract: A testing device (1) with a test button (4) and a rod-shaped plunger (5) for testing a locking device that can be actuated on a door (2) pivotable around a hinge on a container (3) is to be improved in terms of simple design and mounting. To simplify design and mounting, a fastening structure (8, 7) for the movable, rotatable mounting of the testing device (1) is arranged on the door (2). The end (13) of the plunger pointing toward the container (3) is provided with a holding structure (14) which is introduced into a mounting support (16) arranged permanently on the container (3) such that the holding structure (14) is out of engagement with the mounting support (16) in normal operation, and in testing operation. The holding structure engages the mounting support (16) in such a way as to limit the pivoting stroke of the door (2).

  • Patent number: 5040530
Abstract: A breathing mask with a half mask and a nape band is to be improved such that secure contact of the mask in the entire nose and mouth region of the mask user is ensured by the nape band. The mask is thus effectively prevented from slipping despite the fact that the band is located in the nape region only. An additional application of a hood is possible without providing additional holding members. To accomplish this task, the band can be applied in the form of a rubber-elastic cuff (5) which has a neck opening (6) and a head opening (7). The mask and cuff are preferably made in one piece of silicone rubber, and the hood can additionally be bonded to the cuff.

  • Patent number: 5005700
Abstract: A gas-tight packaging arrangement for a device, such as a respirator containing an oxygen releasing chemical. The arrangement includes a safety device for checking the state of the packaging. The safety device acts on an elastic partial area of an evacuated envelope surrounding the device. The envelope may be made of foil or the like. The state of the packaging is indicated through a viewing window provided on a housing surrounding the envelope. A loss of vacuum is indicated by providing a tensioned non-elastic band surrounding at least part of the circumference of the envelope. The non-elastic band includes a visible mark band part which may be viewed through the viewing window. The visible mark band part includes a breaking point, the breakage of the visible mark band part being visible through the viewing window. To tension the non-elastic band, a strain relief element may be provided bridging the visible mark band part such that the belt may be tensioned without breaking the visible mark band part.
