  • Patent number: 8500447
Abstract: Medical treatment devices, such as dental treatment devices, include at least a drive unit for driving a tool configured to act on a treatment site, a light-emitting device and a cooling media dispensing device for dispensing at least one cooling medium onto a tool and/or a treatment site. The device can be controlled, such as with a controller, to substantially alternatingly operate the light-emitting device and the dispensing device, thereby intermittently illuminating the tool and/or the treatment site and dispensing cooling medium toward the tool and/or the treatment site, respectively, which provides a user with an improved view of the tool, the treatment site, or both.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 9, 2009
Date of Patent: August 6, 2013
    Assignee: W&H Dentalwerk Bürmoos GmbH
Inventors: Michael Rothenwaender, Christoph Kment, Juergen Koelndorfer, Herbert Weissenboeck, Martin Milojkovic
  • Patent number: 8435198
Abstract: In a support shell assembly for supporting and splinting legs comprising a left and a right leg shell and a sole element that is fastened to the leg shells, wherein the leg shells and the sole element have fastening means for receiving a tensioning element, arranged within the support shell assembly (5) there is at least one layer of a 3D textile (1) comprising at least two layers of a textile material which are held at a defined and pressure-resilient distance from one another by flexible threads (FIG. 3).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 18, 2010
Date of Patent: May 7, 2013
Assignee: IMA Integrated Microsystems Austria GmbH
Inventors: Herbert Weissenböck, Christine Frühwirt, Christoph Kment
  • Patent number: 8324765
Abstract: A fluid-operated medical or dental handle with a device for limiting the rotational speed to a maximum rotational speed value is disclosed. The handle comprises a rotating part that can be induced to rotation by a driving fluid for driving a tool connectable to the rotating part, an electrodynamic transducer driven by the rotating part for induction of an electric voltage, wherein the electrodynamic transducer has at least one coil and a magnetic element and at least one switch element for optional opening and closing of a circuit between the two ends of the at least one coil, so that with the circuit closed, an electric current and an induced magnetic field that decelerates the rotational speed of the rotating part and the tool connectable thereto can be induced in the coil of the electrodynamic transducer.

  • Publication number: 20090191974
Abstract: In a flexible drive shaft, guided rotatably in a curved, preferably bendable tube (1), with an end piece (2, 3) on the driving side and on the output side, the flexible shaft is formed by a plurality of segments (4) arranged between the two end pieces (2, 3) at a distance from each other, which are connected by means of flexible connecting elements (5, 6, 7, 8) with each other and with the end pieces (2, 3) for the transmission of the rotary movement.
