  • Publication number: 20240179480
Abstract: A method trains a speaker recognition unit of a hearing aid of a user, wherein the hearing aid is connected to a communication device of the user, for carrying out a remote conversation between the user of the hearing aid and a conversation partner of the user. An audio signal of the conversation partner is received by the communication device for output to the user. A speaker ID is assigned to the conversation partner, wherein a number of speech samples of the conversation partner is extracted from the audio signal. The speech samples are assigned to the speaker ID and form a training data set jointly therewith. The speaker recognition unit of the hearing aid is trained using the training data set in order to recognize the conversation partner in future.

  • Publication number: 20230362555
Abstract: A method operates a hearing aid, in particular a classic hearing aid. The hearing aid includes an input transducer, a signal processing device, and an output transducer. Wherein an occurrence of a comb filter effect is determined by the signal processing device, and wherein a countermeasure is controlled by the signal processing device as a function of the determined occurrence of the comb filter effect.

  • Patent number: 11800302
Abstract: A method for transmitting information relating to a hearing device, in particular a hearing aid, to an external device. The hearing device is thereby placed in an immediate environment of the external device and the hearing device broadcasts a generally receivable, unencrypted first information item containing metadata about the hearing device and/or access data. The unencrypted first information item is received by the external device. The external device changes its operating mode directly or indirectly as a result of the first information item and continues to be operated with the modified operating mode.

  • Patent number: 10856089
Abstract: A method operates a hearing aid where the hearing aid generates an input signal from acoustic signals from the environment. The hearing aid has a signal processor which is configured to modify the input signal and thereby generate an output signal. The signal processor has an automatic gain control for modifying the input signal, and has a compressor that can be operated with a compression scheme. The environment is divided into a plurality of directions of which one is selected by a direction determination unit as a relevant direction. The input signal is modified in a direction-dependent manner by the compressor being operated with a compression scheme, which is set dependent on the relevant direction, so that acoustic signals from the relevant direction are emphasized compared to acoustic signals from other directions.

  • Patent number: 10652670
Abstract: A method operates a hearing aid which has at least one input transducer and at least one output transducer. An input signal is generated by the at least one input transducer from a sound signal in the environment. From the input signal, a classification of a hearing situation of the environment is determined and/or at least one of four parameters including tonality, loudness, stationarity and reverberation time is determined for the sound signal of the environment. A first intermediate signal is generated in dependence on the input signal by signal processing. Wherein by the classification of the hearing situation and by at least one of the four parameters of tonality, loudness, stationarity and reverberation time, at least one parameter of a frequency distortion is predetermined. The frequency distortion predetermined in this way is applied to the first intermediate signal.

  • Patent number: 10277991
Abstract: A method operates a binaural hearing aid system with first and second hearing aids. A first audio signal of the first hearing aid is divided into a first high-frequency component and a first low-frequency component. A second audio signal of the second hearing aid is divided into a second high-frequency component and a second low-frequency component. A first provisional division frequency is specified for the division of the first audio signal into the first high-frequency component and the first low-frequency component. A second provisional division frequency is specified for the division of the second audio signal into the second high-frequency component and the second low-frequency component. A division frequency is defined on the basis of the first provisional division frequency and the second provisional division frequency. The first and second audio signals are divided at the division frequency into respective high-frequency components and low-frequency components.
