Abstract: In a method for storing individual pieces the identity and size of each individual piece is determined and a corresponding reference signal is produced that is sent to a computer. As parameters of the size the edge lengths of the pieces are used. Based on the parameters a storage location in the storage in the storage facility is selected so as to optimize the use of the available storage space. The individual piece is directly positioned into storage at the selected storage location, which is recognized and saved in the computer. Upon request, the individual piece can be removed with computer assistance from the storage facility.
