Abstract: The invention relates to method for transmitting data between a first subscriber (22) and a second subscriber (24) using at least one conversion unit (10), wherein the first subscriber (22), the second subscriber (24) and the conversion unit (10) are configured in each case for wireless near-field data transmission with a first transmission method and a second transmission method. The second transmission method has a plurality of variants, wherein the first subscriber (22) and the second subscriber (24) are configured in each case to carry out only those variants which are incompatible with one another. An identifier is transmitted by the conversion unit (10) in a first step using the first transmission method. This identifier of the conversion unit (10) is received by the subscribers (22, 24) using the first transmission method.
