  • Patent number: 8330073
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for laser ablation of a surface coating from a wall, such as a painted wall finish, for example in a nuclear plant to be decontaminated, and a device for implementing said method. The inventive ablation method includes sweeping shots on the coating of at least one pulsed laser beam with a laser beam quality factor M2 less than 20, and characterized in that it comprises a direct control of said shots by optical deflection, such that the impact zones (I1, I2, I3,) of said shots on said coating are disjointed or substantially adjacent with minimized overlapping.

  • Publication number: 20080257873
Abstract: A method for producing periodic structures at the surface of a sol-gel type, hybrid organic-inorganic or organic material, characterised in that it includes the step of directly illuminating the material with a laser beam having a uniform intensity profile at near-normal incidence, while moving said material and said laser beam relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 6281487
Abstract: A device for protecting an optical system against the excess luminosity of an incident light beam. The device forms first and second light beams from an incident light beam. A mirror reflects the first beam which is then guided toward the optical system. The mirror includes a reflecting layer capable of being ablated, at least locally, when it is subjected to high luminous intensity. The second beam initiates the ablation process of the reflecting layer, which is continued and completed by the joint action of the first and second light beams.

  • Patent number: 5828437
Abstract: A device placed by a support in front of the eyes of a user protects them against luminous aggression, in particular by a laser beam. The device includes a light attenuation system to attenuate the intensity of the received beam by a particular attenuation value. A light amplification system is disposed between the light attenuation system and the eyes of the user to amplify the intensity of the light received from the light attenuation system by a particular amplification value, but such that the intensity of the light transmitted towards the eyes does not exceed a prescribed maximal intensity that is not harmful for the eyes. The attenuation and amplification values are substantially equal.
