  • Publication number: 20230120157
Abstract: Method for detecting fraudulent or abusive use of telephone services comprising the following steps: collecting data on telephone communication exchanges carried out over a given study period from/to telephone numbers and involving roaming and/or interconnection; creating individual files for compiling exchange data for each studied number; revaluing communications based on pre-established revaluation rules to obtain a wholesale cost amount for each studied number; a step E4 of identifying suspicious numbers for which the amount of wholesale costs exceeds a predetermined threshold value over the study period; a step E7 of detecting fraudulent use by analysing exchange data compiled in the files associated with the identified numbers and/or the multiparametric indicators obtained from said data. Methods for detecting fraudulent or abusive use of telephone services.

  • Patent number: 10681221
Abstract: The invention relates to a method (100) of detecting a “soliciting” telephone number that is being used fraudulently for soliciting calls to “target” numbers. The method (100) comprises a plurality of iterations of a detection stage (104) comprising the following steps: sending (106) a telephone call to at least one target number; receiving (108) at least one message; detecting (110) at least one soliciting number from said received message; and detecting a new target number in said received message; the method being characterized in that it includes a new iteration of the detection stage (104) using said new target number when said target number is a new number. The invention also provides a system for performing such a method (100).

  • Patent number: 7912191
Abstract: A method for monitoring traffic revenue flows for a plurality of communications companies using Information Technology (IT) systems, including the following steps (v) designing an optimal sample of transactions that maximizes the probability of detecting billing errors done by the communications companies; (vi) executing transactions from the optimal sample of transactions through a plurality of communications networks and recording test transactions data ,using concurrently a shared infrastructure comprising a plurality of robots for generating the transactions; (vii) collecting invoice lines from the IT systems in a non intrusive way, through an automated browsing of the web sites of the communications companies; so as to extract billing data for each test transaction, and (viii) processing the recorded test transactions data so as to re-rate billing for the test transactions, and matching said re-rated transaction billing data to billing data invoice extracted from the collected invoice lines, so as detec
