  • Patent number: 11959714
Abstract: A method of assembling a bolt handle to a bolt assembly of a firearm includes inserting the bolt handle through a handle opening defined by a bolt body. A distal end of the bolt handle is inserted through the handle opening until the distal end extends past an outer perimeter of the bolt body. At least a portion of a bolt shroud is inserted through a first portion of an aperture defined by the bolt handle. A force is applied to the bolt shroud while the bolt handle is retracted within the handle opening of the bolt body so that the bolt shroud is positioned within a second portion of the aperture. The bolt shroud is held in connection with the bolt handle when the bolt shroud is positioned within the second portion of the aperture to secure the bolt handle to the bolt body.

  • Publication number: 20240116494
Abstract: This document describes techniques for parking and ventilation management systems for vehicle batteries. An example system includes a processor that determines whether a battery of a vehicle requires cooling. In response to a determination that the battery requires cooling, the processor determines where the vehicle is located (e.g., home garage or public location). If the vehicle is parked in the home garage, the processor requests a change in an initial state value of a home component (e.g., garage door) to reduce the ambient temperature of the home garage. If the vehicle is located in a public location, the processor determines a parking space with optimal thermal conditions (e.g., shaded or fewer surrounding vehicles) and autonomously operates the vehicle to the selected parking space. In this way, the described system can manage ambient conditions to improve temperature management of vehicle batteries, thereby improving their reliability and longevity.

  • Publication number: 20240118923
Abstract: A processor-implemented method includes generating, by a scheduling model, a group of schedules from a computation graph associated with a task, each node on the computation graph being associated with an operation of an artificial neural network, each schedule of the group of schedules associating each node of the computation graph with a processor of a group of processors of a hardware device. The processor-implemented method also includes testing one or more schedules of the group of schedules on the hardware device or a model of the hardware device. The processor-implemented method further includes selecting a schedule of the one or more schedules based on testing the one or more schedules, the selected schedule satisfying a selection condition.

  • Publication number: 20240117758
Abstract: A handling system includes an elongated member including a first end and a second end, and a first bend therein. The elongated member is positioned in a slot of the turbine shroud. A base retention member extends from the first end of the elongated member to engage and retain a first end portion of the turbine shroud on the elongated member, and a sliding retainer is configured to slidingly receive the elongated member. The sliding retainer is shaped and sized to slidingly engage in the slot and selectively retain a second end portion of the turbine shroud in a handling position on the elongated member. A lock is coupled to the sliding retainer and selectively movable between a locked position in which the lock retains the sliding retainer in the handling position and an unlocked position in which the sliding retainer slides freely on the elongated member.

  • Patent number: 11952592
Abstract: Organs-on-chips are microfluidic devices for culturing living cells in micrometer sized chambers in order to model physiological functions of tissues and organs. Engineered patterning and continuous fluid flow in these devices has allowed culturing of intestinal cells bearing physiologically relevant features and sustained exposure to bacteria while maintaining cellular viability, thereby allowing study of inflammatory bowl diseases. However, existing intestinal cells do not possess all physiologically relevant subtypes, do not possess the repertoire of genetic variations, or allow for study of other important cellular actors such as immune cells. Use of iPSC-derived epithelium, including IBD patient-specific cells, allows for superior disease modeling by capturing the multi-faceted nature of the disease.

  • Patent number: 11956187
Abstract: A company may implement automated workflows for convenience of users or to reduce support costs. For example, allowing a user to change an address using an automated workflow may be faster or less expensive than with a human agent. In some instances, a first communications session may be started between a first user and a second user. During the first communications session, one or more communications may be processed to select an intent of the first user and a value of an information item communicated by the first user. An automated workflow may be selected to continue assisting the first user, and the first user may be transferred to a second communications session with the automated workflow. The automated workflow may be initialized with the value of the information item that was provided during the first communications session so that the first user does not need to repeat information.

  • Publication number: 20240110763
Abstract: An air launch apparatus includes a frame, a grip, and a plurality of sidewalls and also includes a hollow substantially cylindrical barrel having a central longitudinal axis. The air launch apparatus further includes a piston disposed substantially concentric with the barrel. The piston is configured to move longitudinally along the outer surface of the barrel in directions parallel to the longitudinal axis. The air launch apparatus also includes a nut that is configured to engage the piston as a front block carrying the nut is drawn rearward toward a user, and to hold the piston stationary relative to the front block while so engaged. A plunger, fixedly connected to the piston, is configured to move with the piston. Movement of the piston and plunger, forward during cocking draws air into a volume within an air chamber of the air launch apparatus. The plunger, together with the piston, is driven rearward (toward the user) during firing of the air launch apparatus.
