  • Publication number: 20240161627
Abstract: A method for displaying CPDLC messages on a user interface is provided. The method includes receiving a CPDLC message for display on the user interface; determining whether the CPDLC message has a message reference number (MRN); if the CPDLC message does not have an MRN, displaying the CPDLC message in a first column in a panel body of the user interface if the CPDLC message is a downlink CPDLC message or in a second column in the panel body if the CPDLC message is an uplink CPDLC message; if the CPDLC message does have an MRN, identifying a prior CPDLC message having the MRN as a message identification number (MIN) for the prior CPDLC message; identifying whether the prior CPDLC message is in the first or the second column; and displaying the CPDLC message in an opposite column from the prior CPDLC message.

  • Publication number: 20240161629
Abstract: To facilitate improved CPDLC interfacing, report messages can be automatically armed and displayed in a threaded message format in the same message panel with other CPDLC messages between a vehicle and a ground system. Upon determining that a report is needed based on an uplink CPDLC message from the ground system, a report message label is displayed on the CPDLC message panel. Once the report is ready, it is automatically armed and the report message label indicates to the operator that the report message is ready to be sent. The operator can also select the report message label in the message panel to display the report message.

  • Publication number: 20240161630
Abstract: To facilitate improved CPDLC interfacing, a task list is generated with task label(s) corresponding to at least one task that must be completed before establishing a CPDLC session. The task list occupies a portion of the same message panel that enables logon to the CPDLC session. When a task is completed, an indicator such as a checkmark can be displayed next to the associated task in the task list to indicate to the operator which tasks are completed. In some embodiments, the task label is removed from the task list once the associated task is completed, and when all tasks are completed, the task list is removed entirely from the message panel.

  • Publication number: 20240161628
Abstract: A method for creating a Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications message (CPDLC message) is provided. The method includes receiving a request on a user interface of an avionics device to create the CPDLC message; displaying a menu with a plurality of types of CPDLC messages in a panel body on the user interface; receiving a selection of one of the plurality of types of CPDLC messages through the menu; populating the panel body with fields configured to gather data for the CPDLC message based on the selection; and creating the CPDLC message based on the data.

  • Publication number: 20240161632
Abstract: In one example, a system includes HMI(s) and processor(s) communicatively coupled to the HMI(s) and a non-transitory computer-readable medium on which CPDLC interface instructions are stored. The CPDLC interface instructions are executable by the processor(s) and, when executed by the processor(s), cause the processor(s) to: generate a CPDLC GUI on the HMI(s), the CPDLC GUI configured to display icons representing a subnetwork, a Current Data Authority (CDA), and a Next Data Authority (NDA) for the CPDLC connection; in response to receiving a command via the CPDLC GUI to log on to a CPDLC session, establish the CPDLC connection with a ground station using the subnetwork and the CDA; generate an indicator or a button in a header of the CPDLC GUI that includes an indication of the subnetwork, the CDA, and the NDA for the CPDLC connection.

  • Patent number: 11717319
Abstract: Catheter exchange systems and methods may use a cutting tool to sever an encrusted catheter. The cutting tool may include a flexible cannula to encompass and move along the encrusted catheter. A sheath may selectively cover the cutting tool. The cutting tool may selectively transition between a first position in which the cutter is within the sheath and a second position in which the cutting tool is extended beyond the sheath to sever a suture of the catheter. A locking stylet may be used to secure the position of the encrusted catheter and remove the encrusted catheter.

  • Publication number: 20230215280
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for assisting operation of an aircraft when diverting from a flight plan using a comparative vertical profile display. A vertical profile display includes a first graphical representation of a first vertical profile corresponding to a first lateral route defined by a flight plan for the aircraft and a second graphical representation of a second vertical profile corresponding to a modified lateral route different from the first lateral route displayed concurrently on the vertical profile display. The first vertical profile corresponding to the first lateral route is depicted on the vertical profile display in a first plane and the second vertical profile corresponding to the modified lateral route is depicted on the vertical profile display in a second plane different from the first plane.
