  • Patent number: 6203470
Abstract: A chin and neck exercising device made from foam and which may be in the shape of a ball is disclosed. One half of the ball may be made from one type of foam and the other half of the ball may be made from another type of foam. In this way, different resistance is provided to the person using the device. The device also has a side which is cut-out so that the device is contoured to fit under the person's chin and rest on his or her neck and clavicle. The cut-out area is covered with fabric so as to provide a better grip and to prevent perspiration from contacting the ball. Various exercises may performed by the person in order to tone and strengthen his or her chin and neck muscles. While the device has been described as being formed in the shape of a ball, other sizes and shapes may be used. In an alternative embodiment, the exerciser may include a vibrator located therein.

  • Patent number: 6171214
Abstract: The chin exercise device in a first embodiment of the present invention includes an elongated handle having a top end, a bottom end, a front side, and a rear side; a pair of curved members extending outwardly from the top end of the handle; and an arm which is pivotally attached to the curved members. The arm has a foam pad for receiving a person's chin. Attached to the rear side of the elongated handle is a foam pad which is placed against a person's clavicle or chest when the device is used by a person to exercise. In order to use the device a person holds the handle and places the foam pad of the handle against his or her chest. The person then places his or her chin into or on the foam pad on the arm. The person moves his or her chin downwardly, toward his or her chest. The springs create resistance as the person brings his or her chin down, thereby exercising the muscles of the chin.

  • Patent number: 5620403
Abstract: A sliding exercise machine comprises a main frame that has a housing movably mounted thereto along the vertical plane. A support is secured to and is movable with the housing. A board is slidably mounted atop the support and is slidable along the length of the same through manipulation of handles positioned at opposite ends of a cord. Secured to one end of the support is a bottom cross bar. An intermediate cross bar is positioned between the main frame and the bottom cross bar. A pair of spaced cables are secured between the bottom cross bar and the said main frame and extend through the intermediate cross bar. At least one tension band is removably secured to the bottom cross bar and either the board or the intermediate cross bar.

  • Patent number: 5439432
Abstract: An exercise machine comprises a pair of stepping members pivotally secured to the base frame, a main strut attached to the base frame extending upwardly therefrom and handlebars secured atop the main strut. A different resistance cylinder is secured to each stepping member for providing resistance when a downward force is placed on the stepping members by the user. The stepping members each have a compression mat secured thereto for providing a cushioned surface.

  • Patent number: 5439433
Abstract: A step climber exercise machine comprises a base frame having a support bar telescopically mounted therein, a pair of stepping members pivotally secured to the base frame, a main strut attached to the base frame extending upwardly therefrom and handle bars secured atop the main strut. A different resistance is secured to each stepping member for providing resistance when a downward force is placed on the stepping members by the user. The support bar can extend outwardly from the base frame to prevent tipping of the exercise machine when in use.

  • Patent number: 5435799
Abstract: An exercise apparatus includes the combination of a multipurpose exercise machine capable of allowing a person to perform a number of different anaerobic exercises thereon and an aerobic exercise machine such as a stair climber, treadmill, bicycle or the like associated therewith. A program computer is mounted on one of the machines so as to be readily accessible to the person exercising. The computer includes a memory which has a plurality of exercise programs stored therein which can be selected by the user. Once a particular program is selected, the computer causes a display to advise the user as to which particular exercise is to be performed and for how long. The computer indicates the conclusion of the particular exercise time and the beginning of a transition time where the user is to move on to the next exercise which is then timed and the process continues throughout the exercise program.

  • Patent number: 5403254
Abstract: A foldable step climber exercise machine comprises a base frame having a balancing support telescopically mounted therein, a pair of stepping members pivotally secured to the base frame, a main strut attached to the base frame extending upwardly therefrom and handlebar secured atop the main strut. A different resistance structure is secured to each stepping member for providing resistance when a downward force is placed on the stepping members by the user. Pivots are provided between the main strut and the base frame to allow the step climber to be collapsed from an operating position to a storage position.
