Abstract: An apparatus and method for cleaning carcasses is described and illustrated, as is a device for mixing a cleaning substance that can be used in such applications. In some embodiments, the apparatus and method utilize a multi-phase cleaning substance spraying procedure in which the cleaning substance has desired levels of chlorine dioxide and is delivered to the carcasses at desired flow rates, both of which can vary between phases of the procedure and/or at different locations of the carcasses being cleaned.

Abstract: A lubricant applicator includes a plurality of applicator bodies fixed to a common manifold. A nozzle from the manifold into the applicator body directs lubricant to a reservoir which allows the lubricant to drip onto the moving conveyor. A spreader bar is used to ensure that the entire cross section of the conveyor run is coated with the lubricant. The amount of lubricant injected into the reservoir is adjusted by selecting a nozzle with an appropriately sized orifice. Thus, a separate applicator can be used for each chain of a multi-chain conveyor and the amount of lubricant for each chain can be precisely controlled using a single manifold controlled by a single solenoid valve.

Abstract: A treatment system for use with conveyor apparatus that allows for the uninterrupted use of the conveyor apparatus system while simultaneously treating the conveyor belt. The system employs of a sump basin and various spray bars that can sanitize, clean or lubricate a conveyor belt in conjunction with the processing of various products. The treatment system allows for the effective reduction of the down time in the manufacturing possess using conveyor apparatus.
