  • Patent number: 10932803
Abstract: A surgical apparatus comprises a body, a shaft assembly, a rotation input assembly, and an end effector. The shaft assembly defines a longitudinal axis and a first fluid passageway. The rotation input assembly is operable to rotate the shaft assembly about the longitudinal axis. The rotation input assembly defines a second fluid passageway. The second fluid passageway is in fluid communication with the first fluid passageway. The end effector is located at a distal end of the shaft assembly. The end effector comprises an ultrasonic blade. The end effector is in fluid communication with the first fluid passageway such that the end effector is configured to receive fluid communicated through the first and second fluid passageways.

  • Patent number: 8144941
Abstract: A method and system used to integrate and control multiple secure credentialing approaches including magnetic stripes, bar codes, contact and contactless SmartCard chips, Short Message Systems (SMS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), vicinity type Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID), and proximity type RFID, into compact, self-powered, biometrically-protected devices.

  • Publication number: 20060132836
Abstract: A method and apparatus that enables a user to access image data, typically via a network, such as the Internet, and enlarge or reduce a selected portion of the image data. The re-sized image data can be printed, stored or transmitted to another location. The re-sizing may be implemented by a server device, client device or combination of the two. Image data is displayed at a terminal, for example at a user terminal, and a mark-up language template is overlayed on at least a portion of the image data. The template permits viewing of the portion of the image data. Next at least two parameters of the template are selected, indicating desired dimensions of the image data to be re-sized. The selected parameters are transmitted to a remote location where the selected image data is processed to generate a representation of the portion of the image data, which is transmitted to the user.

  • Publication number: 20060106667
Abstract: A system and method for generating an indication of compatibility between individuals and groups includes accessing first response data from a first user as well as desired first response data from the first user. A first weighing factor is associated with each of the desired first response data. Second response data from a second user is accessed as well as desired second response data from the second user. A second weighing factor is associated with each of the desired second response data. Indicator data is generated as a function of the first response data, first desired response data, first weighing factor, the second response data, the second desired response data, and the second weighing factor. This indicator data can be modified as a function of a margin of error, importance of particular questions and other essential criteria, such as gender, age and religion. A ranking process ranks users based on their relative compatibility.

  • Patent number: 6315597
Abstract: A power connector for receipt and releasable engagement with a wire to effect a transmitting power electrical connection to the wire. The power connector includes a connector housing having a wire insertion side with an opening for receiving the wire. A spring contact is disposed within the housing and includes an attachment end for attaching the spring contact to the connector housing and a contact end for contact with the wire. The spring contact includes a substantially C-shaped segment extending between the attachment end and contact end. The C-shaped segment is dimensioned to be maintained under compression and so that the spring contact applies a contact force against an inserted wire at the contact end with a force sufficient for supporting the conducting of electricity between the wire and contact end.

  • Patent number: 6116818
Abstract: An ocean plow device and accompanying method which incorporate a passive plow blade and a jetter tool working in conjunction with one another to lower drawbar and increase cable deployment speeds. In order to avoid cavitation due to sand dilation, in one embodiment of the plow device, the jetter tool includes nozzles oriented in a downward and backward direction relative to the plow device which creates a flow pattern to turbulently remove surface soil in front of the jetter tool in a rapid manner. The jetter tool is pivotally suspended from a point in front of the passive plow blade, such that the jetter will be free to find its own equilibrium position. That is, the pivotal mounting enables the jetter tool to rotate upward in harder soils and become fully extended in softer soils in order to reach the equilibrium position. The passive plow blade behind the jetter tool provides a constant burial depth for the cable and also provides protection from side loads encountered during deployment.
