  • Patent number: 9707858
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a state of charge of a vehicle battery in order to ensure the starting capability of the vehicle. A battery temperature prediction for the vehicle battery is determined and the battery temperature prediction is used to determine a lower state-of-charge limit of the vehicle battery. The amount of charge in the vehicle battery is controlled in such a way that the state of charge of the battery at least does not fall below the lower state-of-charge limit. Data of a navigation system integrated in the vehicle or coupled to the vehicle are taken into account in the determination of the battery temperature prediction.

  • Publication number: 20140288803
Abstract: A vehicle having an internal combustion engine can be switched off automatic and can be started automatically by way of an engine start/stop device. The vehicle includes at least one electric energy store and at least one electric consumer. In the case of an internal combustion engine which has been switched off automatically, a stop current strength which is removed from the at least one electric energy store by the at least ne electric consumer can be determined. The engine start/stop device automatically starts the internal combustion engine if a predefined stop current threshold or a predefined stop discharge threshold is exceeded.
