Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide for a method and system of fractional telecommunications switch ownership. In one embodiment, an ownership interest in a telecommunications switch is transferred to one or more third parties. In another embodiment, two or more third parties each hold an ownership interest in separate fractions of a telecommunications switch. In a further embodiment, an operator operates a telecommunications switch in which one or more third parties hold an ownership interest while the operator retains other ownership interests in the switch. Finally, a telecommunications network is provided as an example of telecommunications network operable with the invention.
