  • Patent number: 7892025
Abstract: A sealed connector system and components thereof is disclosed. The sealed connector system has a sealed cable assembly and a printed circuit board header assembly. The sealed cable assembly has a cable housing and a cable terminated thereto. A cover, as described above, is overmolded over a portion of the cable housing and a portion of the cable. The cover is one continuous member that acts as a seal to prevent contaminants from entering the cable housing. A printed circuit board header assembly is mated to the cable housing. The header assembly has recesses provided proximate a circuit board mounting surface, with the recesses being configured to provide additional space on a circuit board on which the header assembly is mounted. Legs or ribs may be provided proximate the ends of the circuit board contact area. The ribs provide stability to the printed circuit board connector and prevent the printed circuit board connector from being rotated relative to the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 7794267
Abstract: A card edge connector and a card edge assembly that utilizes the individual card end connectors are disclosed. The card edge connectors have slotted insulation displacement terminals to connect to wires. Each electrical connector has a housing with first mounting project extends from a first sidewall of the housing and a mounting recess extends from an oppositely facing second sidewall. The mounting projection is dimensioned to be received in the mounting recess of a second electrical connector, thereby allowing the connectors to be mounted to each other. This type of connector assembly allows the connector assembly to be built according to the needs of the end user. This modular aspect of the connector assembly adds flexibility while reducing the overall cost of manufacture. In addition, the use of the slotted insulation displacement terminals further enhances the flexibility of the connector assembly, as various wiring schemes can be effectively and cost efficiently utilized.

  • Patent number: 7762829
Abstract: Connector and connector assemblies for use with miniature high power electrical components, and specifically with miniature LEDs. Although the connectors and connector assemblies are designed for use with miniature LEDs, these devices are not so limited and can also be used with other miniature electronic devices. These connectors and connector assemblies provide a mechanical connection between the miniature electronic component and electrical contacts instead of a soldered connection, providing a reliable electrical contact between the component, whether used in a PCB-type drop-in connection or some other connection. The connector also includes a heat sink to remove heat from the connector assembly generated by the LED and provides for a reliable mechanical connection between the LED and heat sink.
