  • Publication number: 20140153429
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for monitoring perceived quality of a packet-switched voice service in a network. The method includes the step of receiving a packetized voice communication via the packet-switched voice service. At least one objective measurement is obtained from the received packetized voice communication. User perceived quality of voice data is derived from the at least one objective measurement. The user perceived quality of voice data is provided to a user. The steps of receiving, obtaining, deriving, and providing are performed in real-time.

  • Publication number: 20140150098
Abstract: Methods and devices for protecting computing devices against the effects of surreptitiously loaded machine language programs from a malware source. The user defines a pattern of disruption of the sequence of bytes. The user then installs legitimate programs to be run on a particular computing device by loading the original program onto the local hard drive and replacing the program by one to which the pattern of disruption has been applied. Using the user-defined disruption pattern, the computing device can define the transforms necessary to reverse the application of the disruptive pattern. As part of the process the operating system for the computing device is modified to apply transforms that reverse the disruption pattern when executing a program file loaded into RAM.

  • Publication number: 20140042113
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of forming a container comprising forming a basket portion of metal mesh material and a rail connected to the basket portion. The rail extends substantially outwardly from the outer surface of the basket portion and the rail extends continuously around the outer surface of the basket portion. In one example, the method includes forming the rail so that it does not contain or surround a free edge of the basket portion. In another example, the method includes forming the rail so that it includes an opening for containing or surrounding a free edge of the basket portion. The method may also include forming a lower rail. The present invention is also directed to a container formed by such method.

  • Publication number: 20140040722
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for voice-enabling a web application, wherein the web application includes one or more web pages rendered by a web browser on a computer. At least one information source external to the web application is queried to determine whether information describing a set of one or more supported voice interactions for the web application is available, and in response to determining that the information is available, the information is retrieved from the at least one information source. Voice input for the web application is then enabled based on the retrieved information.

  • Publication number: 20120249136
Abstract: A method of generating a magnetic resonance (MR) image of a tissue includes acquiring MR signals at undersampled q-space encoding locations for a plurality of q-space locations that is less than an entirety of the q-space locations sampled at the Nyquist rate, wherein the acquired signal at the q-space locations represents the three-dimensional displacement distribution of the spins in the imaging voxel, synthesizing the MR signal for the entirety of q-space encodings using a compressed sensing technique for a portion of q-space locations at which MR data was not acquired, combining the acquired MR signals at q-space encodings and the synthesized MR signals at q-space encodings to generate a set of MR signals at q-space encodings that are evenly distributed in q-space, using the set of MR signals at q-space encodings to generate a function that represents a displacement probability distribution function of the set of spins in the imaging voxel, and generating an image of the tissue based on at least a portion

  • Publication number: 20120039203
Abstract: Empirically derived models are used to relate user perception to objectively measurable characteristics, under a criterion of nearly perfect co-variance between predicted MOS values and the variations in the values of the objectively measurable characteristics. In the example context of evaluating packet switched telephony service, the present invention eliminates the need to perform subjective tests to characterize each combination of codec type and transmission protocol.
