  • Patent number: 6545855
Abstract: An apparatus (100) for reducing inductance in a capacitor having a first terminal (12) and a spaced-apart second terminal (14), includes a first conductive plate (120) and a second conductive plate (140). The first conductive plate (120) is electrically coupled to the first terminal (12). The second conductive plate (140) is electrically coupled to the second terminal (14) and is disposed in parallel with the first conductive plate (120) so as to overlap at least a portion of the first conductive plate (120). An insulating member (122 and 142) is disposed between the first conductive plate (120) and the second conductive plate (140). The insulating member (122 and 142) insulates the first conductive plate (120) from the second conductive plate (140).

  • Patent number: 6126440
Abstract: A method and assembly is provided for modifying a regenerative or a recuperative furnace system having air-fuel burners for use with synthetic air. A portion of the exhaust gases from the furnace is recycled and mixed with oxygen gas to form synthetic air. The synthetic air is then used to support combustion in the furnace. A cassette regenerative oxy-fuel cross-fired furnace system is also provided. The cassette regenerative furnace system utilizes synthetic air containing a mixture of recycled exhaust gases and oxygen in combination with cassette regenerators.

  • Patent number: 6053049
Abstract: An electrical device (10) includes a package body (12) having a device mounting region (14) and an electrical connection region (16). A cavity (18) resides in the package body (12) intermediate to the device mounting region (14) and to the electrical connection region (16). A leadframe (20) is positioned within the package body (12) and includes a plurality of individual leads (34) traversing the cavity (18). An electronic component (24) is electrically attached to the individual leads (34) within the cavity (18). In addition to accommodating the attachment of the electronic component (24), the cavity (18) is configured to permit access to the individual leads (34) by a bonding tool (40).

  • Patent number: 6036486
Abstract: A cassette regeneration system (10) for an oxy-fuel regeneration assembly (52) having oxy-fuel burners (54) includes a first regeneration assembly (62) having at least one removably connected cassette regenerator (32), a second regeneration assembly (62') having at least one removably connected cassette regenerator and an exhaust reversal valve assembly (82) in flow communication with the first and second regeneration assemblies and configured to selectively direct exhaust gas from the furnace to a selected one of the first and second regeneration assemblies. The system further includes an air supply conduit (98), at least one preheated air conduit (102) and an air reversal valve assembly (80) in flow communication with the air supply conduit and the at least one preheated air conduit and configured to selectively direct air from the air supply air conduit to a selected one of the first and second regeneration assemblies to the at least one preheated air conduit.

  • Patent number: 5983671
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the preferably continuous manufacture of foamed material using a furnace are provided. A two-part mold mechanism is provided that includes an upper portion and a lower portion that are each endless loops and cooperate with one another to form a closed mold within the furnace. The upper and lower portions can each comprise a plurality of transverse mold members that can be easily replaced or exchanged during operation of the apparatus. A feed mechanism is provided for introducing material that is to be foamed to the mold mechanism upstream of the furnace. Scrapers or the like can be provided downstream of the furnace to aid in separating and supporting foamed material from the mold mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5193961
Abstract: A pin and grommet assembly includes a push-pin and a grommet of unique construction which is capable of absorbing variations in the relative positions of a supporting panel and a mating panel to be attached caused by thermal expansion and contraction. A pair of diametrically opposed semicylindrical-shaped portions are disposed on the push-pin and cylindrical-shaped mating grooves are formed in the interior of the grommet for retaining freely floating the semicylindrical-shaped portions in the grommet so as to permit lateral sliding engagement between the opposed outer wall surfaces on the shorter sides of the main body portion of the grommet.

  • Patent number: 5129768
Abstract: A sliding grommet includes a head flange and a shank portion of a unique construction which is capable of absorbing relative positions of an oblong fitting hole in a mounting panel and a throughhole in a mating hole to be attached caused by thermal expansion and contraction. A pair of Y-shaped members are disposed on opposite sides of the shank portion to permit flexing upon insertion, and locking tabs are provided on each leg of the Y-shaped members for retaining freely floating the shank portion in the oblong fitting hole in the mounting panel so as to permit lateral sliding engagement between the upper and lower edges of the fitting hole.
