  • Patent number: 11033062
Abstract: An apparatus is described to divert sweat away from a wearer's eyes or eyewear. The apparatus includes an elongate base member and a plurality of pliable ridges abutting the base member that, when pressed against the wearer's forehead, form channels. The channels collect and divert sweat away from the eyes so that the sweat drips down the side or back of the head, or down the nose, instead of flowing into the eyes or onto eyewear worn by the wearer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 6, 2018
Date of Patent: June 15, 2021
    Assignee: Oakley, Inc.
Inventors: Chad Michael McKonly, Kevin K. Grant, Christopher Lee Greenwalt
  • Patent number: 10809545
Abstract: Eyewear is disclosed that can have multiple ventilation states providing different amounts of ventilation through the eyewear. The eyewear can include a lens and a frame. In some embodiments, the lens and/or frame can be moved with respect to the user to provide the multiple ventilation states. In some embodiments, the eyewear can include a nosepiece which is movable from at least a first configuration to a second configuration to provide the multiple ventilation states.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 13, 2018
Date of Patent: October 20, 2020
    Assignee: Oakley, Inc.
Inventors: Ryan Neil Saylor, Ryan Anthony Calilung, Ron Derek Dema-Ala, Christopher Lee Greenwalt, Brian McNeill, Dugan O'Keene, Bryson Morgan Stewart

  • Patent number: 9732887
Abstract: A twist-locking fitting for securing a strut to a rod includes first and second fitting pieces. Each fitting piece includes a half-nut portion having an interior surface defining an axis extending through first and second axial ends of the half-nut portion. Each fitting piece includes an outer flange extending outward from adjacent the first axial end of the half-nut portion and an inner flange extending outward from adjacent the second axial end of the half-nut portion. The inner flange is spaced axially apart from the outer flange to define a clearance gap. The fitting pieces are positionable on the strut in an unsecured position in which the fitting pieces are movable relative to one another. The fitting pieces are rotatable relative to the strut to move from the unsecured position to a secured position, in which the fitting pieces are fixed relative to one another on the strut.
