Patent number: 11951356Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating and provisioning personalized news feeds for athletes. One embodiment is a system that receives metrics for exercise activities performed by athletes. The system generates records of the exercise activities of the athletes based on the metrics, determines a type of exercise for each record, classifies the records based on corresponding types of exercise, and compiles a fitness history, for each athlete, comprising records of exercise activities performed by the athlete. For each of the athletes, the system generates a digital news feed for the athlete, identifies categories of engagement for the athlete based on types of exercise indicated in the fitness history of the athlete, selects articles from a repository, personalizes the digital news feed for the athlete by populating the digital news feed with the selected articles, and transmits the digital news feed to a user device.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2022Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: OUTSIDE INTERACTIVE, INC.Inventors: Rani K. Powers, Christopher M. Glode, Ryan P. Trunck

Patent number: 11804286Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling dissemination of genomic data. One embodiment is a system that stores genomic data. The genomic data for each individual lists genetic variants determined to exist within that individual. The system receives an access request for a segment of genomic data for an individual, analyzes an authentication token within the request, authenticates the request as belonging to an account for a user based on the authentication token, and reviews authorization directives for the individual that indicate how predefined portions of genomic data are shared. The system also transmits the segment of genomic data in response to determining that the authorization directives permit the account to access the segment of genomic data, and prevents transmission of the segment of genomic data in response to determining that the authorization directives do not permit the account to access the segment of genomic data.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2021Date of Patent: October 31, 2023Assignee: Helix, Inc.Inventors: Rani K. Powers, Christopher M. Glode, Ryan P. Trunck, Jennifer L. Lescallett

Patent number: 11699069Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing predictive assignments pertaining to genetic information. One embodiment is a system that includes a genetic prediction server. The genetic prediction server includes an interface that acquires records that each indicate one or more genetic variants determined to exist within an individual, and a controller. The controller selects one or more machine learning models that utilize the genetic variants as input, and loads the machine learning models. For each individual in the records: the controller predictively assigns at least one characteristic to that individual by operating the machine learning models based on at least one genetic variant indicated in the records for that individual. The controller also generates a report indicating at least one predictively assigned characteristic for at least one individual, and transmits a command via the interface for presenting the report at a display.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2017Date of Patent: July 11, 2023Assignee: Helix, Inc.Inventors: Ryan P. Trunck, Christopher M. Glode, Rani K. Powers, Jennifer L. Lescallett

Publication number: 20200019674Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for selecting from among polygenic models that predict characteristics of individuals. One embodiment is a genetic prediction server that includes a memory that stores polygenic models which predict characteristics of individuals based on genetic variants of the individuals, including a set of polygenic models for a characteristic that each perform a different analysis of genetic variants when making a prediction. The server also includes a controller that receives an indication of genetic variants of an individual, determines that the individual belongs to a demographic, and selects, based on the demographic, a polygenic model from the set to predict the characteristic for the individual.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2018Publication date: January 16, 2020Inventors: Ryan P. Publication number: 20200019675Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for polygenic recommendations. One embodiment is a system that includes a polygenic server. The polygenic server includes an interface that acquires an indication of known genetic variants of an individual at predetermined genetic loci, and a controller that identifies a product for the individual, selects genetic variants from the known genetic variants based on the product, assigns a value to each selected genetic variant based on an aggregation directive for the product, calculates a polygenic score for the product based on the value of each selected genetic variant, and determines whether to recommend the product for the individual based on the polygenic score.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2018Publication date: January 16, 2020Inventors: Rani K. Patent number: 10438687Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for evaluating polygenic models. One embodiment is a system that includes a memory storing a polygenic model that uses genetic variants which occupy predetermined genetic loci as inputs, and makes predictions for individuals based on the inputs. The system also includes an interface that receives an indication of known genetic variants exhibited by an individual, and a controller. The controller operates the model to make a prediction for the individual, determines that the indication does not provide known genetic variants for a subset of the predetermined genetic loci, and evaluates a performance of the prediction of the model based on the subset of the predetermined genetic loci that have not been provided known genetic variants.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2018Date of Patent: October 8, 2019Assignee: Helix OpCo, LLCInventors: Rani K.
