  • Publication number: 20240127313
Abstract: A shopping cart and checkout controller subsystem for an e-commerce platform serving webpages for a plurality of retail items has a shopping cart controller configured to receive a selected retail item from a respective web page and add the selected retail items to a respective shopping cart by associating the selected retail item with at least one of a respective browser session and a user profile. The subsystem also has a checkout controller processing the purchase of the selected retail item for a retail price including with input payment details. The subsystem is configured to detect when a number of retail items of the same type is added to a plurality of shopping carts and to control the checkout controller to adjust the retail price of the retail item.

  • Patent number: 10959891
Abstract: A weight sensing pad assembly includes a pad that is comprised of a resiliently compressible material. The pad is positionable beneath a mattress of an ambulance gurney. In this way the pad is exposed to the weight of a patient lying on the ambulance gurney. An electronic scale is integrated into the pad to sense the weight of the patient when the patient lies on the ambulance gurney. The electronic scale displays weight indicia comprising numbers communicating the weight of the patient in kilograms. In this way the electronic scale facilitates emergency responders to accurately determine medication dosages that are based on the patient's weight.

  • Publication number: 20070177503
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of call admission to a wireless network. The method may include accessing quality of service information associated with a voice application associated with an access terminal in response to receiving a call session request from the access terminal. The method may also include determining whether to admit the requested call session based on the quality of service information associated with the voice application.

  • Publication number: 20070177592
Abstract: There is provided a system and method for providing group calling in a wireless network. More specifically, in one embodiment, there is provided a method comprising receiving a request to participate a group call from a mobile device located in a wireless service area, determining whether a threshold number of other mobile devices in the wireless service area are participating in the group call, if the threshold number of the other mobile devices are participating in the group call, designating the requesting mobile device to receive a multicast transmission of the group call, and if the threshold number of other mobile devices are not participating in the group call, designating the requesting mobile device to receive a unicast transmission of the group call.

  • Publication number: 20070165643
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling the misordering of packets in packet delivery in radio access networks (RANs) and other packet-switched networks. In one aspect, the method involves reading header information to determine the proper sequence of arriving packets, storing at least some packets that have arrived out of order, and forwarding the stored packets in a modified order that has no more than a specified degree of misordering.

  • Publication number: 20050281227
Abstract: A methodology is provided to reduce data session handoff time between 3G1x and EV-DO technologies for dual mode access terminals. Generally, a dual mode access terminal is communicating with a data network through a base station and a particular packet data service node (PDSN) using EV-DO technology. When the EV-DO technology becomes at least temporarily unavailable, a handoff process is initiated so that communications with the data network may continue using 3G1x technology. During handoff, the access terminal provides an access network identification (ANID) that contains an International Mobile Subscriber Identifier (IMSI). A radio network controller within the base station extracts the IMSI and uses it to select the same PDSN used with the EV-DO technology, which eliminates the need to access an authentication, authorization, and Accounting (AAA) server and perform a re-authentication process.
