    Abstract: A hydrostatic module is disclosed, including a pair of shafts rotatably supported by a frame. Two yokes are pivotally mounted on the frame, each having complimentary surfaces to the other yoke and to the frame, minimizing the space occupied by the yokes. Stop means are provided on the yokes and on the frame to limit the pivotal movement of the yokes. A hydrostatic power unit is carried by each yoke, each connected to one of the shafts. A control system, having a single piece control housing containing servo pistons, pivots the yokes. The servo pistons independently determine the orientation of the yokes. A single piece fluid control porting plate is secured to the control housing to route hydraulic fluid to multiple locations within the control housing. A fluid manifold serves as a main structural element, with intimate proximity between the manifold and the control housing allowing simplified fluid exchange therebetween.

Two yokes are pivotally mounted about parallel axes on the frame. A hydrostatic power unit is swingably carried by each yoke, and each hydrostatic power unit being operatively connected to one of the shafts to rotate the same. A pair of system pressure conduits in the frame with each of the pressure conduits are fluidly connected to each of the cylinder blocks. A control system is provided for pivoting the yokes including means for independently pivoting the yokes about parallel axes.

    Abstract: An actuating mechanism is provided with support members that extend away from the centerline of a cylinder bore, piston and actuator rod of an actuation mechanism that uses pressure to move the piston within a cylinder bore. Two support members are attached to a cylinder housing and provided with mounting holes. The two support members are spaced apart from the cylinder housing to allow external support structures to be placed between the cylinder housing and the two support members. Appropriate fasteners, such as bolts, attach each of the two support members to the external support structures in such a way that the cylinder housing can pivot about an axis extending through both bolts. Most importantly, a line extending through the supporting bolts intersect the cylinder bore at a place between its opposing ends. This reduces the required space necessary to allow the cylinder to pivot properly.
