  • Patent number: 11953765
Abstract: A method is provided for operating one or more one solid-state electro-optic device to provide an electrically switching shutter. The method includes forming an alternating stack of first semiconductor layers having a first dopant and second semiconductor layers having a second dopant to form at least one superlattice semiconductor device. The method further includes applying to the at least one superlattice semiconductor device a first voltage to induce a transparent state of the alternating stack such that light is transmitted through the alternating stack, and applying to the at least one superlattice semiconductor device a second voltage different from the first voltage to induce an opaque state of the alternating stack such that light is inhibited from passing through the alternating stack.

  • Publication number: 20240093663
Abstract: A DC power plant generating DC power from a variety of engines including a Stirling cycle engine. The DC power plant includes a relatively small start-up power source that is discontinued after the engine is running. A method for producing DC power for a load including starting up an engine using power supplied by a relatively small power supply supplemented by a capacitor bank, providing output from the engine to a generator, producing alternating current (AC) power by the generator, converting the AC power to direct current (DC) power, disabling output of the DC power during a first set of pre-selected conditions, limiting a rate of change of current of the DC power during a second set of pre-selected conditions, reducing conducted and radiated emissions of the DC power, disconnecting the DC power from the load under a third set of pre-selected conditions, and providing the DC power to the load.

  • Publication number: 20230035089
Abstract: Surgical constructs, assemblies, and methods for rotator cable reinforcement with a flexible coupler and an optional reinforcement material. The rotator cable between the attachment points is reinforced with a suture in different configurations. The anchor points are located at the insertion sites of the rotator cable and a continuous stitch reinforces the rotator cable. The continuous stitch bridges the cable footprint insertion points, to displace forces from the rotator cuff tendon.

  • Patent number: 10939046
Abstract: An apparatus for taking moving pictures, a method for taking moving pictures, and a novel pixel sensor array are disclosed. The apparatus includes a rectangular imaging array, a plurality of column processing circuits, and a controller. The rectangular imaging array is characterized by a plurality of rows and columns of UHDR pixel sensors and a plurality of readout lines, and a plurality of row select lines. Each column processing circuit is connected to a corresponding one of the plurality of readout lines. The controller causes the rectangular imaging array to measure a plurality of images of a scene that is illuminated by a pulsating light source characterized by an illumination period and a dark period. Each of the images is generated in a frame period which includes an exposure period and a dead period, the dead period being less than the dark period.

  • Publication number: 20200137336
Abstract: A low light level imaging apparatus comprising an image sensor having a plurality of pixels, where the image sensor is configured to readout in an interlaced manner to a display that allows for real-time viewing of image sensor data by a user or users, where some users may be remote from the low light level imaging apparatus, in the form of a video stream.

  • Publication number: 20140059113
Abstract: The invention provides an event filter including a filter input configured to receive a plurality of events provided by at least one mobile computing device. The filter passes events from the event filter input to a filter output in accordance with a configuration signal provided by a client system. An event counter is configured to provide a count of the events passed by the event filter. A message unit includes an input for receiving the count provided by the event counter and an input for receiving alerts provided by the client system. The message unit stores the alerts and returns the stored alerts to the client system whenever the count provided by the event counter reaches the count provided by the client system.

  • Patent number: 7481725
Abstract: The present invention involves a golf tee coated with colored coatings that when struck with a golf club leave a marking that easily identifies where the ball was struck on the club face and the path of the swing, but does not come off in normal handling. The tee leaves a multi-colored marking on the club face that is used to show the swing path of a golfer's swing and the point of impact of the tee on the face of the golf club. The tee has a center line or mark that represents the middle, which establishes the optimum hitting area. This line or mark is also an indicator for the golfer to line up in the direction they are trying to hit the ball. On either side of this colored line or mark is a different color that indicates the swing path when shown on the club face.

  • Patent number: 6999132
Abstract: An apparatus generally comprising a tuner circuit, an analog-to-digital circuit and a converter circuit. The tuner circuit may be configured to generate an intermediate frequency signal having a carrier signal at a first intermediate frequency in response to a first frequency conversion applied to a radio-frequency signal modulated by an analog television signal. The analog-to-digital circuit may be configured to generate a digital intermediate signal having the carrier signal at a second intermediate frequency in response to a digitization of the intermediate frequency signal. The converter circuit may be configured to generate a digital television signal representative of the analog television signal at a baseband frequency in response to a demodulation of the digital intermediate signal.
