  • Patent number: 6921034
Abstract: A fuel nozzle assembly for delivering fuel to a combustor of a gas turbine engine. The assembly includes a fuel nozzle including a body having a fuel inlet, an air inlet, an outlet for discharging fuel to the combustor, and a mounting flange for mounting the nozzle in the engine. A portion of the body corresponding to the fuel inlet and/or the air inlet includes a recess for receiving a supply fitting having an annular sealing surface and a rotatable nut. The recess includes an annular seat sized and shaped for sealingly engaging the sealing surface of the supply tube fitting and female threads positioned adjacent the seat for threadably receiving the rotatable nut of the supply.

  • Patent number: 5511288
Abstract: An adjustable loop clamp assembly provides improved retention of electrical cables, tubes or hoses. The clamp assembly comprises a flexible strap with first and second ends. A base, having an elevated platform, a lower platform, a midsection, and two side supports, receives a second end of the strap in an aperture of the midsection. The first strap end is securably affixed to the elevated platform of the base. Support holes in the side supports receive pin portions of a locking cam, the locking cam further comprising a handle portion and a cam portion. A mount bolt is receivable in alignable apertures of the lower platform and the handle portion.

  • Patent number: 5470114
Abstract: A coupling assembly for fluid carrying tubes in a gas turbine engine include first and second fittings fixedly joined to respective ones of the tubes. The first and second fittings include respective first and second mating flanges which are joined together by a clamping band which is adjustable therearound. The first and second flanges include oppositely facing first and second flat faces, with the first flange having a counterbore extending inwardly from the first face, and the second flange having a pilot tube extending outwardly therefrom for being inserted into the counterbore. An annular seal is disposed between the first and second fittings for providing a leak-proof coupling upon clamping together of the two fittings by the clamping band.

  • Patent number: 5188398
Abstract: A redundant locking fluid coupling has a first coupling element including a coupling nut and a second coupling element including an outer ring biased towards the sealing end, such as by a coil spring. The coupling nut and outer ring include circumferential ends that are engaged when the coupling nut is tightened on the second coupling element inner member. Rotation of the coupling nut in a loosening direction is prevented by ratcheting teeth, or, in an alternative embodiment, complimentary sawtooth teeth, in the circumferential surfaces of the coupling nut and outer ring. Loosening of the coupling nut may be accomplished by sides of a wrench engaging a wrench lead in chamfer forcing axial movement of the outer ring to disengage the ratcheting teeth, or in the alternative embodiment, loosening torque being sufficient to overcome the thread torque and the increased frictional force across the complementary sawtooth teeth.

  • Patent number: 5139289
Abstract: Nuts used in a conventional tube union connector are prevented from rotating, which would compromise the connector, by mounting a pair of resilient clips over the nuts, the clips having elongated serrated latch members which interlock together to prevent such loosening. This lightweight device is quickly installed and requires no special installation tooling.
