  • Publication number: 20240189796
Abstract: There is provided a method to characterize a sorbent. The method may provide a sorbent, suspend the sorbent in a fluid, stir the sorbent in the fluid, filter the sorbent from the fluid to isolate a filtrate, measure the electrical conductivity of the filtrate, and measure the alkalinity of the filtrate.

  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Patent number: 11835402
Abstract: In one aspect the invention provides a soft electronic component having a signal electrode and one or more shielding electrodes overlapping the signal electrode to shield the signal electrode, wherein the soft electronic component is arranged to provide one or more signal-coupling regions in which the signal electrode is exposed by the one or more shielding electrodes to allow capacitive coupling of the signal electrode to a signal electrode of another component, wherein the one or more shielding electrodes are arranged to provide one or more shield-coupling regions to allow the capacitive coupling of a shielding electrode to the other component, and wherein the coupling region is covered by a dielectric material.

  • Patent number: 8484341
Abstract: An information handling device detects that multiple flows each include a common transaction-specific identifier. The transaction-specific identifier corresponds to a transaction and is generated in response to receiving a request over a computer network. The information handling device, in turn, logs data pertaining to each of the detected plurality of flows in a storage area. When the information handling device identifies a completion of the transaction, the information handling device calculates a total cost of the transaction using the logged data pertaining to each of the plurality of flows.

  • Patent number: 6359058
Abstract: A pigment dispersant, for instance for incorporation in an emulsion paint containing non-reactive or reactive pigment, is a water-soluble copolymer of monomer units derived from two or more monomers of the formula CH2═CR1—COOR2 wherein R1 is methyl in 75 to 85 mol % of the monomer units and is hydrogen in the remainder, and R2 is hydrogen or a cation in 75 to 85 mol % of the monomer units and is C1-8 alkyl in the remainder of the monomer units and wherein at least 80% of the R2 alkyl groups are butyl groups.
