  • Patent number: 11174756
Abstract: A gas turbine engine for an aircraft includes an engine core, a fan and a gearbox which receives an input from a turbine shaft and which outputs drive for the fan for driving the fan at a lower rotational speed than the turbine shaft. The gearbox has a sun gear which is driven by the turbine shaft. The turbine shaft and the sun gear form a spline connection which is lubricated with oil. The turbine shaft has, on its radially inner side, at least one indentation which is suitable for receiving oil, and the turbine shaft has at least one bore which extends from the indentation to the radially outer side of the turbine shaft and which is suitable for transporting oil from the at least one indentation to the radially outer side of the turbine shaft as the turbine shaft rotates.

  • Patent number: 11131248
Abstract: A planetary gearbox, a splined sleeve, a gas turbine engine with a planetary gearbox and a method for producing a torque-proof connection between a planetary carrier and a support element. The splined sleeve is formed with an outer substantially cylindrical shell surface area and an inner conical shell surface area, and is inserted between the planetary carrier and the support element for creating the torque-proof connection. The diameter of the inner conical shell surface area decreases in the axial direction, starting from an end of the splined sleeve in the direction of a second end of the splined sleeve. The outer cylindrical shell surface area is formed in a stepped manner. The outer cylindrical shell surface area comprises a first cylindrical section and a second cylindrical section which has a diameter larger than the diameter of the first cylindrical section. Between the sections, a conical area is provided.

  • Patent number: 10995676
Abstract: A planetary gearbox device for a turbomachine, having a planet carrier and at least one planet gear arranged rotatably thereon, is described. The planet gear is arranged in the axial direction between two planet carrier regions, to each of which at least one carrier element, on which the planet gear is rotatably mounted, is connected for conjoint rotation therewith. A wedging sleeve is arranged between the carrier element and each of the planet carrier regions, by means of each of which wedging sleeves a press-fit joint is established between the carrier element and the planet carrier regions. A sleeve is provided radially between at least one of the wedging sleeves and a planet carrier region.

  • Patent number: 10955044
Abstract: A press includes two components and a clamping element insertable in an axial direction, via an actuating element which is axially displaceable via an actuator, radially between a region of the first component and a region of the second component. The actuating element passes through the components and the clamping element in the axial direction. The actuating element at one end cooperates with the actuator and at the other end includes a cover element via which the actuating element is actively connected to the components. The clamping element is arranged between the cover element and the components, or between the components and a housing region of the actuator. The actuating element and/or the actuator is movable by the actuator, for insertion of the clamping element between the components, in a scope reducing an axial distance between the cover element and the housing region of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 10823004
Abstract: A geared turbofan engine that has a planetary gearbox which couples a fan shaft and a turbine shaft to each other. The planetary gearbox includes a sun gear that is driven by the turbine shaft. The turbine shaft and the sun gear form a spline shaft connection that is lubricated with oil. Sealing means are provided, sealing off the oil in the toothing area of the spline shaft connection. The sealing means have an elastic sealing ring that has a variable diameter and is springing outwards, and that is arranged inside a groove extending in the circumferential direction of the turbine shaft, wherein the sealing ring abuts at an inner circumferential surface of the sun gear with its radially outer circumferential surface. In further aspects, the invention relates to a method for mounting a planetary gearbox on a turbine shaft and to a spline arrangement.
