  • Patent number: 7521199
Abstract: The present invention relates to an assay system and method for testing compounds for their ability to regulate the hepatic lipase (HL) promoter. In particular, the invention relates to the identification of estrogen receptor ligands having this activity. Compounds that inhibit HL promoter activity are useful as leads, or on their own, to develop therapeutics in the prevention of heart disease.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 21, 2006
Date of Patent: April 21, 2009
    Assignee: Wyeth
Inventors: Douglas C. Harnish, Marshall S. Scicchitano, Sotirios K. Karathanasis, Chu-Lai Hsiao
  • Publication number: 20080227960
Abstract: This invention is directed to the crystal structure of Estrogen Receptor-? (ER-?) complexed with genistein, and to the use of this structure in rational drug design methods to identify agents that may interact with active sites of ER-?, which may be useful as novel chemotherapeutic agents.

  • Patent number: 4853333
Abstract: There is disclosed a DNA transfer vector capable of replication in either a yeast cell or a bacterial cell and having inserted therein a DNA segment coding for human WA rotavirus surface antigen VP7. The transfer vector carrying the foreign DNA is used to transform yeast cells in order to produce the surface antigen VP7 which is capable of eliciting in vivo production of neutralizing antibodies with respect to human WA rotavirus. The surface antigen VP7 so elaborated and its use in a pharmaceutical vaccine composition are also disclosed.
