Patent number: 11470122Abstract: An access control system may include a log data parser that receives log data observations in a cloud system and extract user-permission data from the log data observations. The system may also include a clustering unit that uses the user-permission data to generate one or more clusters, each cluster associated with one or more users. Alternatively, and/or additionally, the system may include a feature extractor and a classifier. The feature extractor may extract one or more features from the user-permission data. The classifier may generate predictions of permissions for the one or more users based on the extracted one or more features. The system may also include a policy generator that uses the output of the clustering unit and/or the classifier to generate an access control policy. The policy may be executed in the cloud system to control user's access to one or more services of the system.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2019Date of Patent: October 11, 2022Assignee: COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINESInventors: Matthew Westin Sanders, Chuan Yue

Patent number: 9876298Abstract: A flexible connector includes a flexible substrate having a plurality of conductive pads and a plurality of conductive polymer springfingers. Each conductive polymer springfinger extends between a first end and a second end. The conductive polymer springfingers are mechanically and electrically connected to corresponding conductive pads at the corresponding second ends and the conductive polymer springfingers are configured to be mechanically and electrically connected to conductors of an electrical component at the corresponding first ends. The conductive polymer springfingers are internally conductive and compressible between the first and second ends. The conductive polymer springfingers are discrete and separated by gaps. The flexible substrate is flexible to allow the second ends of the conductive polymer springfingers to be non-coplanar and to allow the first ends of the conductive polymer springfingers to be non-coplanar for electrical connection with the electrical component.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2014Date of Patent: January 23, 2018Assignee: TE Connectivity CorporationInventors: Jeffery W. Patent number: 8381269Abstract: A secure web browsing method and security system architecture for a mobile device are provided. The architecture establishes a communication link between the mobile device and a computer. A routine transmitted from the mobile device to the computer synchronizes page content of the mobile device to the computer's internet browser. The architecture (i) detects user-supplied inputs to the page content on the computer's internet browser, (ii) generates a verification request at the mobile device when user-supplied inputs are so-detected, and (iii) transmits the user-supplied inputs from the mobile device as an internet communication only when the verification request is confirmed by the user at the mobile device. The architecture also processes each new page loaded at the mobile device to perform removal and/or obfuscation of selected information associated with the new page in order to generate a modified page. The computer's internet browser is updated to the modified page.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2010Date of Patent: February 19, 2013Assignee: College of William and MaryInventors: Chuan Yue, Haining Wang

Patent number: 8307433Abstract: A method of protecting username/password (U/P) credentials operates on a client computer that cooperates with an anti-phishing scheme that generates a client warning at the client computer when a suspected phishing website issues a U/P request. At the client computer, a set of S fake U/P credentials is generated when the client warning is heeded, or a set of (S?1) fake U/P credentials are derived from a client-supplied U/P credential provided after the client warning is ignored. The client computer then transmits to the suspected phishing website one of (i) the set of S fake U/P credentials, and (ii) the client-supplied U/P credential along with the set of (S?1) fake U/P credentials.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2009Date of Patent: November 6, 2012Assignee: College of William and MaryInventors: Chuan Yue, Haining Wang

Publication number: 20120079575Abstract: A secure web browsing method and web browsing security system architecture for a mobile device that has initiated an internet communication session via a local area network (LAN) are provided. The architecture establishes a communication link between the mobile device and a computer having an internet browser capable of internet communication via the LAN. A routine is transmitted from the mobile device to the computer via the communication link. The routine synchronizes page content of the mobile device to the computer's internet browser. The architecture (i) detects user-supplied inputs to the page content on the computer's internet browser, (ii) generates a verification request at the mobile device when at least a portion of the user-supplied inputs are so-detected, and (iii) transmits the user-supplied inputs from the mobile device as an internet communication via the LAN only when the verification request is confirmed by the user at the mobile device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2010Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: COLLEGE OF WILLIAM AND MARYInventors: Chuan Yue, Haining Wang

Publication number: 20100082747Abstract: A method, a system, and a computer-readable medium are provided which support a collaborative browsing session. A connection request is received at a first device from a second device. The connection request indicates a request for a collaborative browsing session between the first device and the second device. In response to the connection request, a web page is sent to the second device from the first device. The web page includes embedded computer-executable instructions to support the collaborative browsing session. A browser application at the first device is monitored for a change in state. An indicator of the change in state of the browser application is sent to the second device from the first device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2009Publication date: April 1, 2010Inventors: Chuan YUE, Haining WANG

Patent number: 7549870Abstract: An electrical interconnect device includes a substrate having opposite outer surfaces and an array of conductive elastomeric columns held by the substrate. Each of the columns have opposite ends that extend beyond respective ones of the outer surfaces of the substrate. Conductive contact caps are disposed over the opposite ends of each said column. An electrical path is defined from one of the contact caps, through the conductive elastomeric column, to another of the contact caps. Optionally, the contact caps may be sized and shaped substantially similarly as the ends of the elastomeric columns. The contact caps may be adhered to the ends of the columns, or alternatively, the contact caps may be adhered to the substrate.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2007Date of Patent: June 23, 2009Assignee: Tyco Electronics CorporationInventors: Jeffery W.
