Patent number: 11919411Abstract: A cable assembly includes a cable having a first end and a second end. The cable has an electric conductor and a cooling conduit, each of which extends from the first end to the second end. The cooling conduit is adapted to convey a fluid that cools the electric conductor. The cable assembly includes a leak detection module to detect a leak of the fluid from the cooling conduit. The leak detection module includes a power source to generate an input voltage signal which is applied at a first node contact with the fluid. The leak detection module includes a controller to monitor an output voltage signal at the first node and to detect a leak of the fluid from the cooling conduit based on the output voltage signal.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2023Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Tesla, Inc.Inventors: Pascal-Andre Fortin, Martin Sukup, Tim Murphy, Chuen Chou, Aria Tedjarati

Publication number: 20220037821Abstract: A charging connector includes a first electrical socket and a second electrical socket. A first sleeve and a second sleeve are provided, such that the first sleeve is concentrically coupled to the first electrical socket and the second sleeve is concentrically coupled to the second electrical socket. A manifold assembly is adapted to enclose the first and second electrical sockets and the first and second sleeves, such that the first and second sleeves and the manifold assembly create a hollow interior space there between. An inlet conduit and an outlet conduit within the manifold assembly such that inlet conduit, the interior space, and the outlet conduit together create a fluid flow path.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2021Publication date: February 3, 2022Inventors: Chuen Chou, Pascal-Andre Fortin

Patent number: 7780223Abstract: An active front skirt for a vehicle includes an airfoil positioned in an air stream existing when the vehicle is moving forward. An airfoil positioning mechanism attached to the vehicle and the airfoil allows the airfoil to move between a first position when the vehicle is at rest and a second position when the vehicle has attained an upper limit velocity, the airfoil being moved to the second position through interaction with the air stream. A retracting mechanism returns the airfoil to the first position. A movable front skirt connected to the airfoil correspondingly moves with the airfoil between raised and lowered positions. In the raised position, ground clearance of the skirt is increased. In the lowered position, the skirt deflects an increased portion of the air stream to lower aerodynamic drag on the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2007Date of Patent: August 24, 2010Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Ryan J. Kottenstette, Lora A. Oehlberg, Dana M. Ung, Chuen Chou, Corina T. Yen
