The gear drive unit includes: a lower bearing supporting a rotary shaft by being fitted over a lower end of the rotary shaft; and a first packing unit having a skirt-shaped wing coming into contact with at least an outer race of the lower bearing, and being seated on a lower surface of a worm wheel, in which the first packing unit prevents lubricant for a worm and a worm wheel, or a foreign substance from being introduced into the lower bearing.
