    Abstract: Many unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) methods have been proposed to bridge the domain gap by utilizing domain invariant information. Most approaches have chosen depth as such information and achieved remarkable successes. Despite their effectiveness, using depth as domain invariant information in UDA tasks may lead to multiple issues, such as excessively high extraction costs and difficulties in achieving a reliable prediction quality. As a result, we introduce Edge Learning based Domain Adaptation (ELDA), a framework which incorporates edge information into its training process to serve as a type of domain invariant information. Our experiments quantitatively and qualitatively demonstrate that the incorporation of edge information is indeed beneficial and effective, and enables ELDA to outperform the contemporary state-of-the-art methods on two commonly adopted benchmarks for semantic segmentation based UDA tasks.

    Abstract: A wheel control mechanism includes a support base, a wheel module, a first magnetic module and a second magnetic module. The wheel module, the first magnetic module and the second magnetic module are installed on the support base. The first magnetic module generates a magnetic attractive force to attract a metal ratchet of the wheel module. By adjusting the position of the second magnetic module relative to the first magnetic module, the strength of the magnetic attractive force is changed. Consequently, the rotation of the wheel module results in a tactile feel or does not result in the tactile feel.

    Abstract: A docking base for a portable computer includes a hollow housing with a generally horizontal support portion for supporting the portable computer thereon and a generally upright portion disposed on a rear end of the support portion. The docking base further includes a connector unit provided on the upright portion of the housing. The connector unit is adapted to engage corresponding connector units on a rear side of the portable computer for connecting the portable computer to at least one computer peripheral device. The upright portion of the housing includes a front wall that is formed with a vent hole to be juxtaposed with a heat-dissipating fan unit on the rear side of the portable computer so that hot air from the fan unit can enter into the housing. The upright portion is further formed with an exhaust hole to prevent the hot air from being trapped in the housing.
