  • Publication number: 20120113950
Abstract: A method of coordinating the transmission resources used by the UEs for UL sounding transmission in a communication network wherein multiple base stations are receiving the sounding transmission from multiple UEs. the method including defining at least one coordinated multi-point transmission set including at least one of the plurality of base station, and/or grouping at least one of the plurality of user equipments of the at least one coordinated multi-point transmission set, transmitting coordinated sounding reference signals in the at least one coordinated multi-point transmission set, and estimating the full UL channel status based on the transmitted coordinated sounding signal.

  • Publication number: 20120099558
Abstract: A spectral arrangement for radio resources is usable for transmitting radio data within a telecommunication network. The spectral arrangement includes (a) a first radio resource usable for transmitting radio data in a first data flow direction, wherein the first data flow direction is either an uplink direction or a downlink direction, (b) a second radio resource usable for transmitting radio data in a second data flow direction, wherein the second data flow direction is opposite to the first data flow direction, (c) a third radio resource usable for transmitting radio data in the second data flow direction and (d) a guard band, which on the frequency scale is located between the first radio resource and the second radio resource such that the first radio resource is separated from the second radio resource Between the second radio resource and the third radio resource there is provided no guard band.

  • Publication number: 20110275370
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods, apparatuses, a system, and a computer program product for synchronizing to an uncoordinated access network. A new access device added to the access network is temporarily set into an over-the-air discover state and identification signals are broadcast from the new access device. Operating access devices are set into an discovery state in response to a detection of the identification signal, wherein their inter access device over-the-air transmission is stopped during the discovery state and an identity of the new access device is searched.

  • Publication number: 20110243107
Abstract: According to one general aspect, an apparatus may include a processor. In various embodiments, the processor may be configured to select either an uplink sub-frame or a special sub-frame to employ for base station-to-base station (B2B) communication in some embodiments, the processor may be configured to cause at least one user equipment (UE), associated with the apparatus, to either refrain from transmitting or substantially receiving during the selected sub-frame In various embodiments, the processor may be configured to transmit data, from the apparatus to a receiving BS, during at least a portion of the selected sub-frame.

  • Publication number: 20110222484
Abstract: For each nth carrier frequency bandwidth of a set of N carrier frequency bandwidths there is determined interference (in which n is an index and N is an integer greater than one). For each nth carrier frequency bandwidth, there is determined a number of cells operating on the nth carrier frequency bandwidth. The number of carrier frequency bandwidths available for selection is reduced to less than N by excluding from consideration at least one carrier frequency bandwidth based on the determined number of cells operating thereon. From the reduced number is selected a carrier frequency bandwidth for use by a host femto cell. In various specific embodiments: the carrier frequency bandwidth excluded from consideration has a maximum number of cells operating thereon; and/or closed subscriber group cells having path loss exceeding a threshold are excluded from the per carrier count; and/or only femto cells are included in the per carrier count.
