  • Publication number: 20150192678
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and an apparatus of satellite positioning, the apparatus comprising a receiver module, a phase-difference measurement module, an angle-of-arrival calculation module, and a positioning module. The receiver module receives at a locale a first and a second signal from a satellite. The phase-difference measurement module measures the frequency of a phase difference of the signals along a geographic direction. The angle-of-arrival calculation module calculates the cosine of an angle of arrival of the signals for the geographic direction based on the frequency of the phase difference, the frequency difference of the signals, and a travelling speed of the satellite along that geographic direction. The positioning module calculates the coordinate of the locale along the geographic direction in the three-dimensional space based on that of the satellite, a distance between the satellite and the locale, and the cosine of the angle of arrival.

  • Patent number: 8306928
Abstract: A system and a method are used for maintaining and analyzing manufacturing equipment. The system includes an embedded forecast device (EFD) configured in the manufacturing equipment and a server in communication with the EFD. The EFD is built in with a feature extraction (FE) algorithm and a forecast model (FM), so as to obtain a real time data of the manufacturing equipment and carry out forecasts on the manufacturing equipment to generate a forecast result. The server has various types of FE algorithms and modeling algorithms, which are selected and combined by a user for training and building a required FM and setting related parameters. The embedded forecast device also has a novelty detection model (NDM), which is capable of informing the server to retrain the models when the manufacturing equipment fails and then to update the FM and the NDM of the embedded forecast device.

  • Publication number: 20080183436
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of evolutionary optimization algorithm for structure design which comprises steps of: meshing a geometric structure with applied geometric boundary conditions; analyzing the meshed geometric structure by finite element analysis to determine the relative stress distribution of the structure; and evolving the geometric structure by migrating geometric boundary nodes. During evolution, meshing and finite element analysis are repeated to perform structural optimization evolutionally till the evolving design converged to an optimum. The present invention overcomes the mesh-dependency problem in most of structural optimization algorithms in the field of structure topology optimization. In addition, the optimized design of the present invention possesses smooth geometric boundaries. Moreover, structure topology resolutions can be controlled and capable of producing designs that are very close to exact theoretical analysis.

  • Publication number: 20070096908
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for guiding visually handicapped by the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, which is able to issue an audio signal to assist and guide the movement of a visually handicapped person as an direction is being interrogated and obtained from guiding bricks embedded with RFID tags of various identification codes. The method comprises the step of: defining a plurality of identification codes, each being distinct from one another and to be stored respectively in different RFID tag; defining a plurality of directions of guidance, each being corresponding to a combination of a specific amount of the defined identification codes; forming a preceding record by recording a previous interrogation of RFID tags; interrogating RFID tags embedded in guiding bricks for forming a current data thereby; combining the current data with the preceding record so as to select a direction out of the plural previously defined directions accordingly.
