Abstract: A scanner controller includes a cache, a scan manager, and a memory controller. The scanner manager receives image data from an image sensor and caches the image data in the cache. The memory is coupled to a dynamic random access memory (DRAM). When the image data in the cache reaches a predetermined amount, the memory controller outputs a row address strobe (RAS) to activate a row of the DRAM. Two different column address strobes (CAS) are then output to activate columns of the DRAM for moving at least two sets of data from the cache to the DRAM while the row is activated.

Abstract: An image processing system integrates the scanning function with image processing function. The scanned image can be directly transmitted to a printer for high quality reproduction to serve a “scan to print” function. The system can also transmit the scanned image with or without being processed to a computer for further processing. The output from the computer can be transformed into image for rapid printout.
