  • Patent number: 6125738
Abstract: An improved cooking device includes a generally bowl-shaped fat separator assembly adapted to be placed substantially within a cooking chamber of a crock pot and supported by an upper rim of the crock pot. The fat separator assembly has a fat collection chamber with an adjustable overflow passage for maintaining a predetermined fluid level within the fat collection chamber. A lower cooking plate is supported by the fat separator assembly and has a support surface positioned above the predetermined fluid level for supporting food during cooking. A sidewall extension member has a lower edge supported on the upper rim of the crock pot. A removable cover is supported on an upper end of the sidewall extension member. An upper cooking plate is supported by the sidewall extension member above the lower cooking plate. The upper cooking plate permits fluids to pass therethrough and fall onto the lower cooking plate during cooking.

  • Patent number: 5145122
Abstract: A flexible strand holder is formed by an elongated base having a pair of arms projecting laterally from respective end portions of the base. Cooperating arms of each pair of arms project laterally from the base in diverging relation such that a flexible strand wound around the cooperating arms at each side of the base, normally retain the strand thereon when the base is disposed in an upright position, but which allows the strand to unwind by gravity when the base is supported with its longitudinal axis horizontal. When the flexible strand unwinds from the arms at one side of the base the unwinding action continues when the holder is angularly rotated 180.degree. about its longitudinal axis in a direction releasing the cross-over winding of the strand from one side of the holder to the other.

  • Patent number: 5102003
Abstract: An automotive crankcase drain plug retainer is formed by placing a relatively thin washer around the drain plug, between its head and the adjacent surface of the crankcase.A permanent magnet mounted in a casing is connected with a radial tab on the washer by a flexible element. The casing magnetically contacts a crankcase to be drained, having the washer previously installed on its drain plug. The flexible element suspends the drain plug and washer when removed from the crankcase.
