  • Patent number: 4533487
Abstract: A process for producing a multi-use cleansing agent basically harmless to human skin from d-Limonene, a natural citrus peel oil derivative. The d-Limonene extract, having the basic formula C10H16 is high in citric acid, carbon, and isopropyl compounds and exhibits similarities in organic structure to turpentine, dipentine compounds. The d-Limonene is mixed with a liquid detergent containing ionic and anionic surfactants in a ratio of two parts detergent to one part d-Limonene. To this mixture is added a fifty (50%) percent mixture of bicarbonate of soda and slaked lime solution in a ratio of three parts soda/lime solution to one part d-Limonene to serve as a buffer for the high acid content of the d-Limonene. Water is then added under pressure in a ratio of three parts water to one part of the total mixture to create turbulence and a complete mixing by surface aeration.

  • Patent number: 4468546
Abstract: A bilge pump switch apparatus for activating and deactivating the bilge pump of the vessel in response to predetermined water levels in the bilge area comprising a housing defining a chamber therein and provided with a fluid port for receiving and discharging bilge water, a mercury tilt switch suspended within the chamber and being responsive to tilting for opening and closing a circuit including a battery, the mercury tilt switch and the bilge pump, and a float responsive to the water level in the chamber for positioning the mercury tilt switch in its normally open position and its normally closed position.

  • Patent number: 4399338
Abstract: A mercury activated float switch comprises a base member, a resilient fulcrum, desirably comprising an aperture in a resilient sheet, supported on said base member and at least two flexible electrical current carrying conductors supported for pivotal movement about the resilient fulcrum. A float member has associated therewith a switch assembly in which the electrical conductors terminate as spaced apart contacts. An angled mercury-containing race within the float member communicates with the switch assembly. As the liquid level changes, the float member pivots about the resilient fulcrum between first and second positions. The mercury in the race occupies the end of the race remote from the switch assembly when the float member is in its first position and flows into the switch assembly to bridge the space between the contacts when the float member is in its second position.
