    Abstract: Herein is described a filtering unit for biological fluids. The filtering unit is composed of an open top container, a cover for the container, a filter which is in contact with the cover and extends downwardly into the container and an aperture in the cover through which the filtered fluid is withdrawn. The filtering unit provides a sample of the filtered fluid using an inexpensive apparatus and can be used by unskilled operators.
