  • Patent number: 4949585
Abstract: The jack comprises a tubular primary screw (10) provided with an outer screw thread and an inner screw thread having opposite thread hands, a secondary screw (11) cooperative with the inner screw thread and having an end (11a) articulated to a fixed point, a nut (9) fixed in rotation and connected to move in translation with the element to be adjusted and cooperative with the outer screw thread, a speed reducer associated with a motor (M) for driving the primary screw (10) in rotation, and means for preventing a rotation of the speed reducer (13) relative to the nut (9). These means comprise an articulated compass structure (18) having two branches (18a, 18b) articulated together. One of the branches is also articulated to the speed reducer (13) while the other branch is articulated to a part (9) of the jack which is fixed in rotation. The compass structure (18) considerably reduces the friction and improves the efficiency of the jack.

  • Patent number: 4782715
Abstract: The adjusting device (7) comprises a screw (8) and a nut (12) engaged in a housing (16). The latter and the screw cooperate with a fixed part and a movable part. The locking system comprises a locking cylinder (23) provided with inner screw threads (24-26) conjugate with outer screw threads (22) of the nut (12), and in these two series of screw threads complementary axial splines are provided so that the locking cylinder (23) locks the nut (12) against rotation when their screw threads and respective splines are in engagement with each other. The locking cylinder (23) may be controlled by a cable (29). Application in the locking in particular of adjusting devices for table guides of woodworking machines and seat structures of vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4770055
Abstract: The device comprises a worm wheel (1) driven in rotation by a worm (2) coupled to the output shaft (3) of a motor-speed reducer (4), a gear pinion (5) associated with the worm wheel (1) for driving the accessory, and means interposed between the gear pinion (5) and the worm wheel (1) for absorbing the driving torque of the worm wheel when the accessory reaches the end of its travel and stops the rotation of the pinion (5). The shock absorbing means comprise a cam (6) fixed to the pinion (5) and having two opposed surfaces (6a, 6b), a pair of shoes (7a, 7b) in bearing relation to the surfaces (6a, 6b) of the cam and biased thereagainst by a metal spring (8) coaxial with the pinion (5) and the worm wheel (1) and surrounding the shoes, and elements (9a, 9b) drivenly connected to the worm wheel and transmitting to the shoes and to the cam and gear pinion the driving torque of the worm wheel.

  • Patent number: 4753124
Abstract: Device comprising a screw (6) and a nut (8) subjected to an axial force which alternates in opposite directions, the thread (7) of the screw having a given helix angle and a given pressure angle which are so chosen that, in a first direction, termed reversible direction, the screw (6) is capable, under the axial thrust exerted in this direction by a spring (20), of effecting a translation and a rotation in the nut (8), and that, in a second direction, termed irreversible direction, opposed to the first direction, the screw undergoing an axial thrust in this second direction by a push-member (9), can effect neither a translation nor a rotation in the nut. This assembly may be applied to the automatic taking up of play of systems subjected to alternating longitudinal forces, such as shafts of electric motors or cable controls.

  • Patent number: 4657523
Abstract: The device comprises a housing (3) in which are disposed a winch (4) for driving the cable (1) and capable of being driven by a motor (5), and end members (5a, 5b) each receiving an end portion of a sheath (6) containing the cable. The end members (5a, 5b) are each elastically biased by a compression spring (8a, 8b) mounted in the housing (3) coaxially with the cable (1). Each end member (5a, 5b) is provided on one of its sides with a set of teeth (9a, 9b) which extends in a direction parallel to the cable (1) and is engaged with a complementary set of teeth (11a, 11b) of a shoe (12a, 12b) disposed in the housing (3) in such manner as to be slightly slidable in the transverse direction when the end member (5a, 5b) of the sheath is moved in a direction parallel to the cable. An arrangement is provided for maintaining the shoes (12a, 12b) elastically bearing against the toothed side of the associated members (5a, 5b).

  • Patent number: 4469972
Abstract: The commutator comprises three conductive sectors 2 which are maintained against a cylindrical insulating core 4 by an insulating ring 3. Cut out from the rear end portion of each sector is a terminal 11 which defines two tabs 12 projecting axially at the rear end of the sector. Each pair of tabs straddles a parallelepipedic projection 5 of the core 4. The three sectors are maintained radially and axially in position by the ring 3 which comprises an annular portion 15 from which extend three claws 16 in the longitudinal direction, the claws being clipped behind a flange 6 which projects from the core. In this way, it is possible to mould the core and the ring 3 from a thermosetting material and to improve the maintenance of the sectors 2.
