The method includes detecting devices in communication with a docking station and identifying a file on one of the devices. The method also includes identifying a plurality of cloud storage sources and calculating a weighted value for each storage source among the plurality of storage sources. The method further includes selecting a storage location within the plurality of cloud storage sources based on the calculated weighted values and storing the file at the selected storage location.

The method includes connecting with a device via a dock, the device including a sensor configured to detect a lighting condition of an environment surrounding the device. Abstract: In accordance with the present disclosure, a system and method are herein disclosed for providing in-service diagnostics based on health signatures of an information handling system. In one embodiment, the health of an information handling system is periodically probed by a software agent running as a service. The service polls a set of probes from interfaces on the host system and tracks parameters indicative of system and component health and performance. An analytics engine processes the data to identify anomalies and outliers, and to detect signatures that are precursors to potential service incidents. A rule set matches signatures to potential actions. Based on the detected signatures and rule sets, the service is operable to select, schedule, and execute one or more diagnostic tests. If an information handling system or component thereof fails a diagnostic test, the results are archived to persistent storage and communicated to an administrator.

Other actions, such as network data updates, may be automatically performed by the user-personalized wake policy in advance of the user-personalized wake times.

Abstract: Usage data monitored at information handling systems is collected and analyzed to provide a basis for component selection for information handling systems by associating components with end user usage profiles. For example, a monitor tracks usage data at an end user information handling system and determines that the end user's usage falls within usage pattern defined by analysis of plural other end users. The end user is directed towards selection of components associate with the defined usage pattern to replace components of the information handling system or for use in a replacement information handling system. Analysis on an enterprise-wide basis helps an enterprise to allocate components and information handling systems to end users of an enterprise.
