  • Patent number: 11585232
Abstract: Systems and methods associated with electrical systems of aircraft are disclosed. A method disclosed herein comprises generating electricity using an electric generator operatively coupled to an engine of the aircraft, supplying the electricity generated using the electric generator to a baseline power bus; generating electricity using an electric starter generator operatively coupled to the engine; and supplying the electricity generated using the electric starter generator to a supplemental power bus independent from the baseline power bus.

  • Patent number: 11485470
Abstract: A flooring arrangement for an aircraft cabin and an aircraft with the flooring arrangement. The flooring arrangement at least one insulating layer for insulating the cabin; a wire mesh disposed above the at least one insulating layer; a carpet layer disposed above the wire mesh, the carpet layer and the wire mesh being in electrically conductive contact; and at least one resistive element connected to the wire mesh, the wire mesh being structured and arranged for being electrically connected to a conductive structure of the aircraft via the at least one resistive element. The resistive element allows transmission, from the wire mesh to the conductive structure, of electrostatic charges developed on the carpet layer, and impedes transmission, from the conductive structure to the wire mesh, of high current events experienced by the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20210155179
Abstract: Methods and systems for operating an auxiliary power unit (APU) of an aircraft are described. The method comprises obtaining external environment parameters of the aircraft, determining an available output power for the APU as a function of the external environment parameters, and setting an overcurrent protection threshold of the APU to a level associated with the available output power.

  • Publication number: 20210093556
Abstract: There is a need to increase protein synthesis in subjects receiving parenteral nutrition. The present disclosure provides oxidized glutathione (GSSG) or a GSSG analog as a supplement for parenteral nutrition to maintain, promote or increase protein synthesis in a subject receiving parenteral nutrition. The present disclosure also provides a parenteral nutrition solution as well as therapeutic uses of the parenteral nutrition supplement or the parenteral nutrition solution.

  • Publication number: 20120321421
Abstract: An apparatus and method for conveying granular and powered bulk materials is provided. The apparatus can include a trailer having a trailer bed that can tilt or rotate from a substantially horizontal position to an inclined position. The apparatus can further include a container that can be placed on the trailer bed for transport. The container can include a gate at one end to allow bulk material contained therein to exit the container when the gate is opened and the trailer bed is tilted or rotated to the inclined position. The apparatus can further include a pneumatic conveyor having a feed hopper to receive bulk material and to move the bulk material into a fluidizing chamber wherein pressurized air or gas flowing through the chamber conveys the bulk material.

  • Patent number: 8142134
Abstract: A transportable apparatus has a main body in a working position with a bottom end resting on the ground. The bottom end of a frame is pivotally attached to the main body above the bottom end of the main body and the frame is aligned with a side of the main body. An actuator pivots the frame downward about the pivot axis to a transport position where the frame extends substantially horizontally away from the main body. Wheels support the frame and a hitch at a top end of the frame is adapted for connection to a tow vehicle when the frame is in the transport position. When the frame is connected to a tow vehicle, the actuator can be operated to pivot the main body downward about the pivot axis to a lowered transport position where the main body rests on the frame for transport on the wheels.
