  • Publication number: 20070051785
Abstract: Disclosed is a collapsible rigid box comprising a rectangular sleeve of rigid chip board and having an exterior panel hingedly connected to the base of the sleeve and dimensioned to fit snugly within the sleeve. An interior shallow tray has a Hymes bottom and integral and overlapping triangular sections which form the base. The blanks for the Hymes bottom have integrally formed marginal wings which are folded to form the shallow tray. An interior panel is hingedly mounted along one side and interior to the tray. One of the blanks making up the Hymes bottom has an aperture therein. One half of a Velcro connector is secured to each of the interior and exterior panels so as to mate through the aperture on opposed sides of the blank. The box is held together by strong cover paper which connects the sleeve side panels. The exterior bottom panel is hingedly connected to the side panel by the cover paper. The interior panel is hingedly secured to one of the bottom blanks of the shallow tray.

  • Patent number: 4967952
Abstract: A wrapping of a selected material, preferably with a decorated surface, is adhered to selected areas of the outer surface of a box within which an item is to be placed. The box is substantially tubular with spaced sides and open at at least one end. The box is provided with a closure for each end and the wrapping material is secured to a portion of the closure that is the last portion thereof to be closed when closing the box end. The wrapping is furthermore embossed along selected lines to facilitate its forming a wrap closure for the box ends. The box ends are closed and the wrap ends are folded into a closed condition presenting the appearance of a hand wrapped box. The adhesion of the wrapping to the box surface is selected to encompass an area of no more than ten percent of the overlapped area and as such further enhances the hand wrapped appearance by presenting a loose appearance for the wrapping on the box.

  • Patent number: 4691368
Abstract: A flexible package that conforms closely to and fully encloses one or more objects with square or rectangular sides is formed of a flexible, light weight, and preferably heat sealable material such as a thermoplastic. In the preferred embodiments, the packaging is manufactured from tubular or parallel sheets of flexible thermoplastic material laid flat to form two layers, which are than folded into a U-shape with the band at the bottom and the side seams heat sealed to form an open topped, double walled package. The package specifications are determined from the dimensions and quantity of the objects to be packaged. Prior to sealing the sides of the package, the bottom portion of the material is tucked up between the sides to a distance equal to one-half the depth of the finished container so that when the objects are placed in the container, the bottom corners spread to form right angles.
