  • Publication number: 20110162226
Abstract: The invention relates to an exposure chamber (10) for hardening radiation-curable coatings on components (14) having surfaces which are oriented in different directions. The invention also relates to an exposure chamber (10) for hardening motor vehicle bodies coated with UV-paints by means of UV-lamps. According to the invention, at least one reflector (20) is arranged in an inner chamber (18) of the exposure chamber (10). Said type of reflector (20) is preferably spherical or alternatively can be pivoted about three spatial axes in a cardanic manner such that, owing to this reflector (20), shadow zones of the vehicle body which are normally exposed inadequately can be uniformly illuminated. The invention further relates to a hardening system (42, 42?) for motor vehicle bodies which comprises said type of exposure chamber.

  • Patent number: 6020023
Abstract: A process and apparatus for repairing small paint defects in powder paint coats. In the process, the paint defect is hollowed out, a filler body, which is adapted to the recess with respect to shape and/or volume, is placed in the recess, the filler body is connected with the powder paint coat surrounding the recess and hardened. In order to improve the quality of this repair, after inserting the filler body, pressure is exercised on the filler body at least at the start of the connecting and/or at least at the start of the hardening.

  • Patent number: 5997941
Abstract: A process for repairing relatively small paint faults in powder coating layers, in which, in the region of the faulty point, a cutout is introduced into the powder coating layer with precisely defined dimensions with respect to its area and also with respect to its depth. A filler made of powder coating and/or a pre-product of the powder coating is introduced into the cutout. The filler is dimensioned to correspond to the volume of the cutout, in particular corresponding to the dimensions of the cutout, and is coherent. The filler introduced is joined, in particular bonded, to the powder coating layer arranged outside the cutout.
