  • Patent number: 8939299
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for handling and/or servicing components of a wind turbine, such as installing and/or dismantling components into or from a wind turbine nacelle or such as servicing exterior components such as blades, hub, tower and nacelle of the wind turbine are disclosed. The gripping apparatus comprising at least one arm for gripping around the wind turbine tower, the at least one arm capable of forming a gap between gripping elements of the gripping apparatus. The at least one arm extends around the entire outer circumference, seen perpendicular to a horizontal plane, of the wind turbine tower.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 19, 2008
Date of Patent: January 27, 2015
    Assignee: Vestas Wind Systems A/S
Inventors: Claus Ahler, Jesper Stærke Rosengren, Hans-Christoph Paul
  • Patent number: 8123304
Abstract: A hydraulic system and method for controlling the brake of a wind turbine are provided. During operation of the wind turbine, pressurized working fluid in the hydraulic system is blocked from being supplied to the brake. Even if some of this fluid does reach the brake, it is drained to prevent a pressure build-up and activation. To activate the brake, this drainage is stopped and the pressurized fluid is supplied to the brake. The blocking and unblocking the pressurized working fluid may be controlled by first and second activation valves arranged in parallel in a supply line that communicates the working fluid to the brake.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 16, 2010
Date of Patent: February 28, 2012
    Assignee: Vestas Wind Systems A/S
Inventors: Carsten Roed, Ole Mølgaard Jeppesen, Keld Lyager Jensen, Claus Ahler

  • Patent number: 6085203
Abstract: A method for converting data formats which differ from one another during exchange of messages or data between programs running on different processors of a communication system provides that a conversion procedure is generated per each data type during the translation event of the source programs and that the conversion procedure which controls the conversion of the data formats is called during the later running of the processes and programs immediately before a message exchange.

  • Patent number: 5778351
Abstract: In communications systems the problem often arises of memory-efficient intermediate storage of system data. To solve this problem, the invention provides that during the process of generating the control programs for the communications system at least one table is created of such a type that the system data to be written into the same during the execution of these programs are intermediately stored without reserving additional memory space and without larger dynamic loss.
