  • Publication number: 20110210464
Abstract: A mould and method for vacuum assisted resin transfer moulding of a fibre reinforced laminated structure are provided. The mould includes a first mould part and a second mould part. The first mould part defines a negative impression of the laminated structure, being structurally stable and forming a support for fibre reinforcement layers of the laminated structure. The second mould part connectable to the first mould part for closing the mould and defines together with the first mould part an enclosed space which can be evacuated. The mould further includes a flow duct for guiding a liquid polymer which is formed as a recess in the first mould part and/or a recess in the second mould part that is open towards the enclosed space and extends along a section of the periphery of the first mould part and/or the second mould part.

  • Publication number: 20090262331
Abstract: A crack detection system and a method for detecting cracks in a loaded engineering structure are provided. The system and method include a light source coupled and optical fibres that are led through the structure. The optical fibres have diameters below 75 ?m. The light source is coupled to the optical fibres.

  • Publication number: 20090175731
Abstract: A method for manufacturing of a fiber reinforced laminate is provided. A part of the laminate is build up to a determined thickness. A layer of wrinkle-preventing material is placed on top of the partially completed laminate. The layer of wrinkle-preventing material has a greater stiffness than the stiffness of a layer of similar thickness of the uncured laminate. Further on a new part of the laminate is build up to a determined thickness. In case the thickness of the laminate built up is not as large as a desired thickness of the completed laminate, the placing of the layer and the building of a new part of laminate is repeated until the thickness of the laminate built up is equal to the desired thickness of the completed laminate.
