  • Publication number: 20230256481
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for washing/cleaning granular material from slag and for washing/cleaning bottom/boiler ash from a thermal waste treatment. In the method, the granular material is added to a process liquid and is subjected to ultrasound therein. According to the invention, it is proposed that the process liquid is located in an upright cleaning channel with an upper feeding end and a lower extraction end, that the granular material is introduced into the cleaning channel from the feeding end, and moves downwards towards the extraction end due to the force of gravity, and is subjected to ultrasound during the sinking movement.

  • Publication number: 20200129986
Abstract: A device for separating conglomerates that consist of materials of different densities is provided. The device has a rotor chamber in which a rotor shaft is mounted so as to be rotatable about a vertical axis, on which rotor shaft striking tools are arranged one beneath the other in at least two planes, which striking tools are set into rotational movement by the rotor shaft such that the conglomerates filled into the rotor chamber from above are captured and separated by the striking tools. The rotor chamber widens conically downward, and the outer radius of the striking tools increase from top to bottom, such that the spacing of the radially outer end edges of the striking tools from the chamber wall facing the striking tools is substantially the same in the individual planes during operation.

  • Publication number: 20200038924
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a binder from slag for conditioning sludges/dredged material, soils containing water and for the neutralization of acids. According to the invention, the slag from a waste incinerator is crushed, then metal is removed and the crushed slag is graded into a fraction greater than 2.0-3.0 mm and a fraction smaller than 2.0-3.0 mm, the fraction 0/2.0-0/3.0 mm is dried in a dryer to a terminal humidity less than 1.5 wt. %-2.5 wt. %, as a result of which the pozzolanic properties of the slag are reactivated, the yield from the dryer is further crushed in a high-speed impact mill to a stable cubic grain structure and the metal released in this process is removed, and the 0/500-0/750 ?m fraction forming the binder is separated from this crushed slag.

  • Patent number: 5799410
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for separating volatile components from a base material. Specifically, the apparatus comprises a gas tight reactor, an induction heating vessel, a plate and evacuating means for evacuating volatile components from the reactor. The method comprises the steps of heating the material from which the volatile components are to be removed by induction heating in a gas tight vessel. More specifically, the area surrounding the object within the gas tight vessel is filled with metal filings which are then heated by induction heating. The metal filings thus inductively heat the object, causing any volatile components therein to be released. The volatile components are then evacuated from the gas tight vessel and the metal filings removed.
