  • Patent number: 5357894
Abstract: A pleasure watercraft is provided which comprises a hull, sponsons, and support structures for the sponsons which have a shape of an airfoil. A cockpit for seating a pilot in the hull is located such that the distribution of mass elements in the craft positions the center of gravity of the craft within a select range along the longitudinal axis of the hull in substantially vertical alignment with seating position of the pilot, and preferably beneath the pilot. Hydrodynamic and aerodynamic forces acting on the craft as it accelerates converge within the select range to permit the pilot control of the attitude and roll of the craft.

  • Patent number: 4612741
Abstract: A generally round, radially sectioned, molded plastic modular building/home with maximum thermal efficiency and space utilization, requires no foundation.

  • Patent number: 4512148
Abstract: An adapter for isolating vibration and thermal shock incident to the use of water cooled manifolds attached to internal combustion engines comprises a substantially annular resilient flange conformed to receive the water cooling jacket of a manifold in one side thereof and adapted for attachment at the other side to the exhaust ports of an internal combustion engine. The water jacket around the manifold is provided with a sealing peripheral bead which opposes the compression of the hose clamp surrounding the annulus of the adapter. The adapter, furthermore, includes an attachment flange enclosing on the interior thereof an annular stiffener plate through which attachment may be made to the engine. The internal combustion engine includes water cooling cavities around the exhaust ports thereof and contacting surfaces of the adapter are thus constantly cooled, allowing for the use of low temperature materials like neoprene or the like.

  • Patent number: 4509926
Abstract: An improved engine hood for jet ski type vehicles (boats). Air flow is greater and less water finds it's way into the engine compartment because of large ducts peripherally located, up and down in a horizontal plane around the interior of the hood, the down sections are water traps which drain outside and the previously horizontal ducts become snorkel type loops when the boat is capsized. The hood is removable and floats. The hood is characterized by a large rearwardly and forwardly louvered opening on the top, and a flexible exhaust conduit which appends the bottom extending down into the engine compartment.

  • Patent number: 4457726
Abstract: In a water born vehicle of the type described in my prior U.S. Pat. No. 3,826,220 including a pivoted control handle extending rearwardly from the bow the improvement comprising a starting cable arrangement which may be selectively secured to the handle and through the pivotal motion of the handle may be articulated to crank the engine. The engine may be provided with a self-reeling starting cable spool with the cable thereof routed across pulleys to emerge at a point below the free end of the handle. The cable may then be selectively engaged to a hook on the handle which, when articulated, extracts the cable from the spool.

  • Patent number: RE30978
Abstract: A low draft, hydroplane-like vehicle in which the engine and associated equipment is so located in the hull that the engine not only drives a jet pump to power the vehicle but the weight .Iadd.and location .Iaddend.of the engine and associated equipment.[.imparts an.]..Iadd., relative to the center of buoyancy of the vehicle, renders the vehicle stable only when it is in an upright position, and the vehicle will immediately right itself from any overturned position. In addition, the weight and location of the engine and associated equipment imparts an .Iaddend.imbalance to the vehicle except when a user is mounted thereon. Due to this imbalance .[.the vehicle is stable only when in an upright position, and will immediately right itself from any overturned position. A further result of this imbalance is that.].
