Patent number: 11756132Abstract: Methods and systems for facilitating loss reporting and resolution are described. In some embodiments, a method includes identifying a bounded geographical area affected by a weather event potentially causing property losses to customers of an insurer. The weather event may have an intensity profile in the bounded geographical area. The method further includes generating a customer density profile in the bounded geographical area and predicting resource utilization based on the customer density profile and the weather event intensity profile in the bounded geographical area.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2021Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Cleburne Burgess, John H. Amstutz, Shanna Limas, Ramon M. Lopez

Patent number: 11210741Abstract: Methods and systems for providing automated methods of inspections that facilitate loss reporting and resolution are described. In some embodiments various remote evaluation tools are provided to collect information from remote locations. This information can be used to generate automated damage estimates which in turn can be used to direct the ordering of supplies, materials, and other resources. In addition, pre-damage and post-damage evaluations of an insured property may be collected using the remote evaluation tools. These evaluations can be used by adjusters (human adjusters and computer-based adjusters) to identify damage and process claims more efficiently.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: UNITED SERVICES AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION (USAA)Inventors: Michael J. Allen, Cleburne Burgess, John H. Amstutz, Shanna Ruth Limas, Ramon M. Lopez

Patent number: 11042941Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for processing insurance claims in a manner that reduces or eliminates a need for an adjuster visit an insured person or property of the insured person. The method includes receiving a query from an insured regarding a claim and determining if the insured has a mobile device with a video camera capable of streaming video to the insurance claim processing system. If a mobile device capable of streaming video is available, the system generates an electronic invitation to a one-way streaming video session and transmits the electronic invitation to the mobile device. Upon acceptance, the system initiates the one-way video session, receives real-time streaming video, and appends received video from the real-time streaming video to a claim workfile. In alternative implementations, the system can remotely control the camera and other features of the mobile device during the one-way streaming video session.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2017Date of Patent: June 22, 2021Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Shanna Limas, Cleburne Burgess, Jon McEachron
