  • Patent number: 8956049
Abstract: A method for producing a fracture-divided component, in particular a connecting rod, with an at least partially coated bore includes the steps of: providing an unfinished component; applying a coating of a bearing material to a bore surface; and working the coating, in order to compensate internal tensile stresses in the coating, before fracture division of the component. Alternatively, the method for producing a fracture-divided component, in particular a connecting rod, having an at least partially coated bore includes the steps of: providing an unfinished component; applying a coating of a bearing material to a bore surface before fracture division of the component; and forming a counter-hardness zone before the application of the coating in order to generate compressive stresses which oppose the internal tensile stresses of the coating.

  • Publication number: 20120034392
Abstract: A method is provided for coating a surface of an Fe-based, hardenable sintered, sinter-forged or forged component, and in particular for internally coating the large end bore of a motor vehicle connecting rod with a bearing coating, wherein the coating material applied to the component surface is converted to a molten state during the coating process. A material bond, which is durable even under high loads, is attained between the coating and the base material of the sintered or forged component without any disturbing residual stresses by a simple manufacturing method due to the fact that during the coating process the component surface is briefly heated in the untreated state of the component above the austenitization temperature to a temperature level having a significantly increased diffusion rate within the limits of the outer edge zone having less carbon for reasons relating to the manufacturing process.

  • Patent number: 6700285
Abstract: For an electrical rotating machine, it is suggested for the non-rotatable connection of a bundle of laminations with a rotor or a stator that the respective bundle of laminations have a profiled contact surface for an assigned rotor hub or an assigned stator housing, in which case, by an electromagnetic forming of the rotor hub or of the stator housing, which is effective at least in areas, its form-locking contact on the profiled contact surface of the respective bundle of laminations is achieved by plastic

  • Patent number: 6431759
Abstract: A split bearing arrangement in a machine housing, particularly a crankshaft journal bearing for piston machines. The split bearing arrangement including a bearing block and a bearing cover that are made of materials of different hardnesses. In order to provide a material anchoring between the bearing cover and the bearing block that can be subjected to high loads and is cost-effective to produce, the bearing arrangement provides the bearing cover, which is made of an iron material, with cutting-edge like projections protruding above its clamping faces and, furthermore, provides grooves in the corresponding clamping faces of the bearing cover and the bearing block. These grooves in an initial mounting of the bearing cover with the required force serve to receive the material of the bearing block that is displaced in the pressing-in process when the projections are pressed into the opposite clamping faces of the bearing block, which is made of a light metal.

  • Patent number: 6328005
Abstract: For an arrangement with an electromagnetic actuator for actuation of a gas exchange valve of a combustion engine, for gas exchange valves that are basically aligned with a row of cylinders in the combustion engine, actuators are arranged in a joint, strip-shaped housing, which is split into two parts by notched separation for assembling the actuators.

  • Patent number: 6145574
Abstract: A core is formed and a prefabricated bearing bore is provided. Two separate projections are provided on the core wherein free projection edges of the two separate projections have a respective shaping radius between R=0.sub.mm and R.ltoreq.0.45.sub.mm. Subsequently indentations are produced in a circumferential area of the bearing bore by the two separate projections on the core wherein the indentations serve as fracture notches. The cast engine part is then formed by casting metal around the core using said fraction notches as incipient crack sites.

  • Patent number: 5911349
Abstract: For a device for fracture separating bearing covers of aligned bearing bores in bearing arrangements of a machine member, which comprises a guided separating element which is profiled in an approximately semicircular shape and acts in the center onto a bearing cover in the bearing bore, for obtaining a device which is structurally simple, it is suggested that, for the fracture separating, a half-mandrel or full mandrel, which can be axially arranged in one or several bearing bores, is provided. An operating linkage, which only causes the guiding of the respective mandrel in the fracture separating direction, is applied to the respective mandrel transversely to its longitudinal course, the respective mandrel being held in a rotationally secured manner and each bearing cover being rotationally secured while being clamped against the respective mandrel.

  • Patent number: 5882438
Abstract: For a method for the formation of a frangible zone for fracture separation of a part, namely a connecting rod for internal combustion engines, by which method, in a fracture plane for the intended triggered break-away, a frangible zone is formed along a side of the plane, through which, ordered depressions with ribs are developed from the surface, there is proposed that in the case of a part comprised of ductile metal, the ribs are at least sectionally embrittled, i.e. penetratingly hardened, for intended formation of initial starting cracks.

  • Patent number: 5716145
Abstract: For a process for fracture separating the bearing cover of a multi-part bearing arrangement, particularly in crankcases of internal-combustion engines, by means of a half-mandrel in a bearing bore partially bounded by the bearing cover, for separating integrally constructed fastening flanges of the bearing cover from the remaining part of the bearing arrangement, it is suggested for producing fracture separating surfaces in planes sloping with respect to one another that the pairs of corresponding fracture separating surfaces of the bearing cover and the remaining part of the bearing arrangement are produced in separating areas which together enclose an obtuse angle (.alpha.) having a case-side vertex by at least one half-mandrel whose curvature radius, as a function of the respective obtuse angle (.alpha.), is selected to be by 0.5% to 5% smaller than the constant radius of the bore receiving the half-mandrel.
