  • Publication number: 20050074425
Abstract: A method for delivering polymerized therapeutic agents and their compositions are disclosed. The various polymers take advantage of the functional domains found in a variety of therapeutic agents. The polymerized therapeutic agent compositions are prepared by covalently linking the agent to a biocompatible backbone either directly or through backbone conjugates/monomers. The polymerized therapeutic agent compositions of the invention have highly desirable properties, which make them particularly well suited for use in biological and biomedical applications.

  • Patent number: 4803746
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a random, speckled pattern of dye to a moving web, such as carpeting. A series of closely spaced distributor units are mounted over the top surface of the web, and each carries a rotating disc, onto which dye material is flowed at a controlled rate. The rotating discs are formed with a highly irregular peripheral contour, such that a high degree of variability and randomness is imparted to the size and trajectory of the atomized dye particles. A significantly improved appearance of randomness in the speckled pattern is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4500039
Abstract: An elongated manifold is supplied with either foam or liquid under pressure through a plurality of inlet ports spaced along the manifold. The manifold contacts a curved blade along a line substantially parallel to, and below the elevation of, the crest of a horizontally disposed curved blade. The manifold is provided with outlet means above the line of contact whereby foam or liquid discharged from the manifold builds up behind the blade's crest until it overflows the crest to flow as a uniform film onto a web moving past an edge of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4398665
Abstract: Either foam or liquid is supplied under pressure to a distributor having a plurality of outlets each connected to a respective passageway extending along one side of a trough. Means are provided to combine the streams of material exiting the passageways prior to the material entering the trough. A curved blade is positioned along the opposite side of the trough. As the trough fills, an overflow of material passes over the crest of the blade and moves along the blade's curvature so as to be uniformly deposited on a web of material moving in a direction normal to the length of the trough.

  • Patent number: 4109592
Abstract: In the manufacture of tufted carpets from a sheet of yarns which are dyed along their lengths at different positions with different colors, mending yarns are provided at the edge of the sheet which are dyed in segments along their length using the same dye colors as the yarns in the sheet. The mending yarns are tufted into the selvedge of the carpet where they can be pulled out for use in mending the carpet when dropped stitches occur.
