The present invention utilizes a triple layer odor absorbent sampling media, solvents, and a heat source to isolate and amplify the odors.     Abstract: A cartridge including a cylindrical annulus of a porous material adapted to be impregnated with vaporizable deodorizing, disinfecting or humidifying material, having a plurality of openings encircling its central opening, a container having at one end a base having a plurality of openings therein open at the opposite end with this opening bounded by a seat for the annulus, and a battery extending between the base and the open end encircled and partially supported by the boundary of the central opening in the annulus. The cartridge does not have a battery where used for apparatus which already has a power supply.
