  • Patent number: 4454505
Abstract: A simplified data entry system, particularly for a lawn sprinkler timer, employing three data entry push buttons cooperative with a multiple position mode switch having manual selector controls operable to present various program modes or segments and associated display legends, one by one, to a data display and entry station; the mode switch positively restricting data entry to the particular requirements of the mode indexed to the entry station and limiting input thereto in accordance with its program requirements; such input data being supplied by push button depressions, which cooperate with a micro-computer to advance digits in a multi-digit display.

  • Patent number: 4229680
Abstract: A thin disc-like device for attachment to the base end of an incandescent light bulb to provide an auxiliary voltage reducing circuit interfaced between the central base contacts of the light bulb and its cooperating lampholder for purposes of extending the rated life of the light bulb. The device is made up of a generally annular insulator base, which protectively houses, locates and mounts a laminated contact assembly made up of a pair of registeringly disposed brass or copper foil electrical conductor contact plates separated by an intervening sheet insulator; the conductor plates having interfacial soldered connections with an interposed flat leaderless silicon rectifier chip. A compressible annular mounting gasket is adhesively secured to the upper side of the contact assembly, its base housing and the base of the light bulb.

  • Patent number: 3932850
Abstract: An improved warning device having means for sensing or detecting a predetermined danger or phenomenon has a compensation circuit for the sensing means, including compensating means connected to the sensing means, amplifier means connected to the junction of the sensing and compensating means, and a feed-back circuit connected to the output of the amplifier means and the input of the compensating means for maintaining the output voltage of the amplifier means substantially constant despite slowly occurring changes in the voltage drop across the sensing means. Means, such as a resistance-capacitance network, is provided in the feedback circuit for rendering the amplifier means non-responsive to slowly occurring changes in the voltage drop across the sensing means and for maintaining the amplifier means responsive to rapidly occurring changes in the voltage drop across the sensing means, as occurs in the presence of the danger or phenomenon to be detected.
